Rockville restaurant recs
This is a funny post, since I'm acquainted with many Rockville dining establishments, but I'm trying to recommend a restaurant for a friend living in VA who'll be meeting some other folks from up 270 in Rockville. They'll have a group of around 8 for a Saturday night. I can point them towards the Town Center but always want to ask the Nesties for recommendations. Thanks!
Re: Rockville restaurant recs
Cava, La Canela, Benjarong, Matchbox, that place that used to be houston's was good but expensive, Dogfish
I'll have to keep an eye on this post-we've yet to find great sushi or good indian in b/w fallsgrove/traville area of rockville and bethesda and are always interested in new, good places to eat

I second a lot of what has already been mentioned and would add:
Addie's (small but ample outside seating)
Branded 72 if they are ok with casual - good bbq
Il Pizzico (Italian)
Far East (Chinese - nice dining room for a Chinese restaurant)
Mi Rancho (Mexican)
Sadly, Againn (replaced Houston's) is closed already
Cava is great, but I don't know if they take reservations.
Matchbox is fairly new - in the shopping center on Rockville Pike with the Whole Foods.
I like Sushi Damo in the Town Center if they like sushi.
If they want something casual, Bobby's Crabcakes in the Town Center is also good.
Matchbox is in congressional where WF used to be-WF is now across from WF. Bobby's crabcakes closed. I dind' tknow about Againn-that was quick. I wish houston's would come back-that was our pre-baby spot-we'd go look at baby things and then have lunch at the bar at houston's. good times.
Addie's is a good rec-the food is really good. If they are up for bethesday we really like Haandi and we also went to the new mussel place by raku which was really good. We also like Jaleo.

For Indian, try Bombay Bistro. It's a few blocks away from the Town Center, and as a bonus they are really nice to DS whenever we go.
Cava's food is delicious - and it did send me into labor with DS
- but the atmosphere kills me. The wait time is ridiculous and the waitstaff are the opposite of endearing.
Thanks for these suggestions, though - I may use a few myself!
We go to Mem Sahib for Indian food. It's basically in our neighborhood near the Kosher Mart. They have a very good buffet on Sunday for lunch. I think they are closed on Saturdays. We havent gone for dinner yet. We've been to Haandi in Bethesda also.
For Sushi we go to Raku or Hinode.
Coming right off of 270 could drop you near Montgomery Mall. I love Hamburger Hamlet and I think they could handle a group of 8 easily. I'd give them a call beforehand.
