Hello!
Well...I can't believe it...but we finally came to an agreement on that house we've been negotiating for over a month! We're moving to Waterford!
I'm not familiar with the area at all so welcome any tips and recommendations for favorite stores/restaurants/vet/groomer/etc.
But most urgently, do you have a mover or painter who has served you well? Our last mover wasn't that great so I don't think we'll rehire them. And we've never used a painter. Recommendations would we be great!

We used AAA Heritage movers -they are in Warren, Mi. They were great. I once used 2 men and a truck-not impressed with 2 men.

When we bought our house last summer, we rented a U-Haul truck for 6 hours, but hired movers for 2 hours to do all the big stuff for us. The truck rental was cheap (I don't remember exactly how much) and the movers were $200 since we had a piano to move. It would have been a lot less had we not had the piano. It worked out so well. They were able to load and unload all of our big stuff in under two hours....that was a move from Novi to Plymouth. We had the U-Haul the rest of the day to move the small stuff on our own. If I had been more organized at the time I would have had a lot more boxes ready to go with the big stuff and they could have moved that as well.
I would not recommend two men and a truck. When we moved from one apartment to another several years ago we hired them to just move the piano. They showed up and forgot the equipment needed to move a piano plus we had to wait several hours while a third person (manager) showed up to get the job done.
you will definitely love it. we live in a lake neighborhood and are very jealous of all the people on the actual lake.
