True (sealed) HEPA vacuum

My DD has bad allergies.  I am looking for a true, sealed HEPA vac.  We live in a 2 story , 3 bedroom house approx 1800 sqft.  Most of the house is hardwood, but I have a cut pile 14x10 area rug in the living room and a 6x8 shag rug in a bedroom.  The living room is where the kids hang out a lot and it gets filthy.  I was looking at the Miele stick vac, but not sure how it will hold up on carpet.  Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Re: True (sealed) HEPA vacuum

  • I'm thinking about getting a miele bolero S7580. It gets good reviews and claims to go easily between carpet and hardwood. It comes with a steep, IMO anyway price tag of $799. But the two people I know who have a miele swear by them. I think for a true HEPA you need a bagged system, because when you dump a bagless you are realeasing the stuff back in the air.
