My strawberry plants have flowers, but no fruit

The blossoms just bloom and then die.  This is the first year I have done strawberries, am I just impatient?
I like salad bar, I like Despicable Me, tosh 2.0, I like Connect 4, Freedom of Speech, David Fincher, sidewalk, I like 1-800-SLIM, yo mama jokes, strawberry, Wilmer Valmavelma, Leon J. Re: My strawberry plants have flowers, but no fruit

  • Is there no tiny green ball left behind where the flower was? If so, it will turn into a strawberry (the first year they will be small).

If there's no little green ball, maybe they're not being pollinated? That's the only reason I can think of for it to flower and then not produce fruit.

  • I was on my hands and knees this morning, and I think I DO have some coming out of the blossoms. Maybe I am just impatient.

  • This was my first year with my strawberries and after they flowered I ended up with 4 berries that were big enough to eat.  I read that it can take a few years for them to reach max production.  I bought early season strawberries.  You may have bought a variety that blooms later in the season.
  • Have you been keeping them inside at all? Even just like a screened in porch? If so, the flowers might not have gotten pollinated by the bees.
