I think i might kinda not like my pt job hostessing... I mean, it's fine, it's easy and i get paid...but i have no faith in work places that don't put their faith in me. I have questions that don't get answered, i get left in the dark about things and then get looked at like i'm stupid when i don't know...I really find myself having a hard time caring about any of it cuz all i'm doing is walking people to their tables at a restaurant!! And they act like we're working with sensitive material!!
I understand that it's their business and it's important to them.
I just really hope that i can last thru the summer, or that it gets a bit better once i'm more settled and i can hang on to this as a weekend job during the fall semester...
Or i'm gonna quit.

Not even remotely flame-worthy. I'd get pissy too if I couldn't sleep with construction noise.
I was asked three times at a retirement dinner the other night if I was TTC. These people are not meaning to be rude, but I am just appalled that people think this is ok to ask. Mostly it's my older friends who all have kids and think that everyone should be having them too.
I think next time someone other than my close GF's (who allll know where I stand on the issue) ask, I am going to say, "I don't like this conversation topic" or something like that and leave it at that. I just need to practice this response. For strangers I need a more snarky version.
Thanks for backing me up on the construction noise vs. napping kid issue, Amy. And I have to agree with you on this TTC conversation. It drives me up a wall that people think that just because kiddo is almost 3 that means we really have to get to trying for another one ASAP. Especially when it's random older family members. DH's grandma even goes a step further and asks me when we're going to have a boy. Like, WTH, grandma, do you even know how this works?
Sorry for the rant, I didn't mean to hijack your confession, but this topic really gets me frustrated.

With rude questions, I always enjoy asking it of them- male, older, doesn't matter. Ask them, "Are you TTC?" I was asked if I was pregnant as soom as we got married. I asked them if they were pregnant.
I know I am late to the game, but I like this! I am starting to do it. I have an older single friend who asked me if I was pg when I was feeling ill the other day. I just flat out asked her if she was pg.
The one that really irks me is when older people (parents' friends) make comments about how thin I am, then I want to ask them why they are so fat. Although, the comments stopped in the last couple years. I guess I gained weight :-/
