So yesterday was bathroom day at Lowe's. We settled on a 60" vanity. This bathroom project was so annoying. It was supposed to be our inexpensive bathroom, but we ended up needing a custom door for the shower and my Dad underestimated the amount of marble he had (he's had marble leftover in his house for close to 30 years that he wanted to give us, so we had to buy a lot more for the walls). We got a good deal on the vanity at least, and my Dad also had a new toilet bowl for us. (You wouldn't believe what he has in his garage from his construction days. Too bad I don't want an 1980's inspired house.) (Extra odd is that my FIL offered us a toilet from his garage- do normal people keep new, unused toilets in their garages or is it just my family?)
Anyway, today I am planning to check out some local stores to get appliance ideas. I looked at Michael's in Middletown and Lowe's and am overwhelmed. I posted on the D&R board, but was hoping to get some opinions from you ladies. Due to kitchen size, I will need a counter depth refrigerator if I put in an island. I'm also in the market for a new dishwasher, and either a really nice one piece range or a double wall convection oven and a gas cooktop. I really want to go with the wall oven and cooktop, but that option is giving me a headache. The vast majority of wall oven reviews I've read are extremely negative. Apparently, manufacturers haven't figured out how to keep the computer panel from going bust. It's an annoying and pricey repair for an expensive item. Here is the set we are looking at from Michael's (no reviews as it is new and not widely carried):

B/c of the poor Jenn Air reviews, I'm hoping to find something else. What brand of and type of kitchen appliances do you ladies have and are you happy with them? Thank you!
Re: more house ?s, please rec your appliances
We got our appliances from Michaels. we also looked at Appliance City, Lowes, Sears and Home Depot.
We have a Whirlpool Gold Fridge (bottom freezer and top fridge) Our space wasnt tall enough for the french doors
Our fridge is similar to this

We have a frigidaire cooktop and wall oven. The space for our wall oven was also on the smaller side so we were limited in options and wanted stainless.
Here is a similar cooktop and wall oven to ours, i couldnt find the exact one

We werent doing a total kitchen reno so we were working with the space we had and we were also trying to be budget friendly, we had a set amount to work with. Ive had no problems with any of the appliances and love them. I also love having a cooktop and wall oven opposted to the all in one stove type deal. Overall we went with Michaels b/c they gave us a deal ordering all appliances through them and they could order us whatever we wanted! Were as Lowes and such it was what they carried and our house is old and the space sizes we had weren't as available anymore so the options were limited.
p.s. sorry i suck at making clickys
very happy with my bosch dishwasher.
hate my frigidaire stove - hate it!
old fridge we didn't replace yet...like 15+years old.
we do plan on remodeling in a few years - i'd love a double wall oven and convection oven, etc.
We have an LG counter-depth french door fridge. I like the fridge, but have decided I'm not a big fan of having the freezer drawer on the bottom -- hard to fit stuff in and you have to move lots of stuff around to get what you want. If I had to do it again, I would probably not get a bottom-freezer type. But if you don't use the freezer much, it is definitely nice to have the french door fridge at eye level.
Our stove is Kitchenaid. It's okay, but only because we got a huge discount through DH's work. If I had paid full price, I would be more annoyed. The convection doesn't really do any good in the oven and the burners are a little awkward to light because they start at high heat and you have to turn it down from there. It's the opposite of what I was used to and seems weird to me. I probably wouldn't buy Kitchenaid again.

We just bought all new appliances because we are re-doing our kitchen. We went with a Samsung French door fridge and I LOVE it. We went with Fridgidaire dishwasher and oven range. I've only used the oven range/stove a few times but so far so good. I haven't used the dishwasher yet...it's not hooked up yet.
We bought the Frigidaire appliances at PC Richards. If you or DH are cops/fireman you get a nice discount there.
