Fun things to do today?

Hi Girls,

It has been a while since I have posted.  But thought I would say Hi.  I will be on here more frequently since I am not currently working, and am seeking employment.  My teaching contract isn't being renvewed, because of downsizing.  So, I am looking even outside the field of teaching.  If anything, I will be subbing next year.

I was wondering if there was anything fun activities going on around town today.  I am home with my three year old, and want to do something fun with her.  If possible preferably something free or not too expensive, considering my job loss.

Also, is there a website that gives ideas of things to do on a weekly/daily basis?

Thanks ladies.  I hope you all are doing well.  It will be nice to post more frequently and get to know you all!

Stacey

PS:  My former screen name was SME14.  I had issues pulling it up, I don't know what happened, so I created a new account.  So those that remember SME14, that is me.

  • Check out GRkids.com and GRnow.com . You should be able to find fun things todo throughout the summer on those websites.  Also Bright Beginnings playgroups are going on. They are free and usually last an hour.  Lots of activities set up with a snack at the end. You can google them for the calendar.

Not sure where you are located but for today, since the radar shows no rain for awhile, I would take your kiddie to the Farmer's market on Fulton street.  It is fun to walk through and see everything and let your little one pick out a treat.  You know it will be healthy and locally made.

Another place that would be fun to check out is Van's pastries on Fulton. They have full size cookies as low as 15 cents! Plus they have a ton of cookie jars displayed so it would be fun to look through them all.

Obviously, my idea of a good time is eating!

Yep!  I have these as subscriptions in my google reader so I get a list every day.

Also, check out Hager Park in Georgetown.  It is a HUGE wooden playground.  Lots of stuff to explore and perfect for a 3 year old.

Does this playground also have a huge "map" of the US on the ground? I remember running a cross country meet there when I was in high school. That playground is awesome.
