Hello Helloooo??? Is anyone around?

I'm here. I just woke up from a glorious 2 hour nap that was much needed.  We worked in the yard this morning planting flowers. Our front yard get a ridiculous amount of shade so E and I are both crossing our finger that what we planted grows. I just want some freaking color in my yard!!! Oh a E finally too the hedge trimmers to the stupid decorative bush in front of the front windows and we trimmed it up and I don't hate it near as much now. It might still come out at a later date but for now its okay.

Why do husbands do stupid things by the way? E found a bees nest in the big tree in the front yard and decided to spray it with bug killer. Of course this lead the bees to all get pissy and swarm out of the tree.  And of course E is allergic to bees but pretends he is not, and of course I have no benedryl in the house at all and have no idea where the nearest ER is, well I do but I have no idea how long it will take me to get there if I needed to go. Thank goodness he didn't get stung.

And now I'm sitting upstairs trying not to go eat another cupcakeStick out tongue

How was you all's weekends?

  • Hello!  I'm about to take DD up stairs for a bath after a full day of playing at the park, outside, and just about everywhere she could get to.

My weekend has been nice.  It started off perfectly Friday night with the NY Senate legalizing same-sex marriage.  Couldn't have asked for  a better start the weekend! Of course that meant I drank one too many margaritas and was a bit slow Saturday morning :-p

The rest of the weekend was spent doing errands and trying to get yard work down while LO napped.  I wasn't too successful on the yard work but I'm making progress.

What's in store for your post-nap evening?

  • Hi.  I'm researching some childbirth and other preparation classes in my area.  I'll probably start on dinner in about an hour or two.

Our weekend was pretty relaxing. Saturday we went shopping for some much needed, better fitting clothes.  Today has been spent just lounging around.

  • I am here. Getting ready to sit down and knit a sweater. I am trying really hard not to just go off and start a new project though. I.Must.Finish.This.

Tell E to call your local Bee Keeper to take the hive. They sometimes need the bees and will take them off of your hands for free. :) Better than killing them, since they are so important to our ecosystem.

Sounds like you had an amazing weekend!

We have dinner plans with friends and their little girl at 5. It should be fun, I think we might be going down to the river for a walk after dinner but I'm not sure yet.

Brilliant!  He said he'll give them a call later this week if it appears that he didn't kill them.

    Have fun knitting!

  • I am around.  H is at work tonight.  We are going to run when he gets home in the morning.  This weekend we didn't do a whole lot.  We went to a local garden place known for having different types of swans.

I might take the dogs for a walk in a little bit.

Two*True, this is an exciting time! With all the DADT repeals and same-sex marriage slowly but surely legalizing across America, the military family is gonna look different in 10 years! You don't have to say where you live, but here's hoping it's New York.

I'm working on my dissertation on my balcony. Thinking of what to do for dinner. Trying to resist the urge to head out to Target and return something I bought, and look for a sexy-without-trying-too-hard dress for DH's return.  This is probably a bragplaint, but I ran 2.5 miles today and according to myfitnesspal.com I now have to eat 800 calories for dinner to stay on my weight loss plan. I ate a late lunch so I'm not too hungry, and there's no good food in the house, but if I don't eat enough I risk putting myself into starvation mode and blocking my weight loss. Panera for dinner, I guess! There are of course worse problems to have. I just don't feel like getting in the car to get food. I think I'll have some wine and keep working on the dissertation after dinner. The dog is out here with me, policing the neighborhood and generally being a menace. It's a nice night!

  • DID SOMEONE SAY CUPCAKE!?

My weekend was pretty good considering my husband worked swing both days.  I got a hair cut and color and walked the mall on Saturday hoping to induce labor (no such luck LOL).

I met some new people today and went to the pool for the first time.  It was glorious and my back and joints are begging me to get back in the water ASAP.

I've also discovered Brothers and Sisters on Netflix and I'm hooked!

I don't want to be on MSNBC, yo.
  • I'm here, watching the season 4 premiere of True Blood!

This past weekend was crazy and wonderful. Sister's wedding went off without a hitch; the weather was lovely, the ceremony short and sweet, there wasn't any drama. I got my period the day before the wedding so I look all fat and bloaty in the pictures but oh well.

All the relatives have finally gone home, and now I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet.

ETA: Here's a pic of sister #1, SIL and me after we decorated their getaway car.

I recommend getting a pedicure to jumpstart labor.  There's something about pressure points in your feet that's supposed trigger it.  I got a pedicure a couple of days before Peanut came.  My friend got a pedicure a day before her baby came.  Might be worth trying!

ETA:  Holy bajeebus there are a LOT of new people on here.

Thanks! I haven't done anything to my hair other than trims in years. The color is completely natural.

I tried the pedicure trick and sadly it didn't work for me. However, R had to be forcefully removed. Oh well, not like I have to go through the waiting process again. I can either go into labor early or this one is being evicted via c-section at 39 weeks.

  • Yesterday we went whitewater rafting all day. It was my first time and I had a blast. We just finished our p90x workout for the day and now I'm crashed on the couch watching a movie. All in all a good weekend.

  • I'm here!

My weekend was good; H and I went out on Saturday, and I got a new dress and a new pair of shoes, and today I've been fighting off morning sickness all day long.  Yahoo!  I did, however, have a delicious dinner of cheetos and a frozen burrito.

  • Mary you look super cute! I love the dresses!

And Gracie I made Orange Cupcakes with homemade Vanilla Frosting. They taste like an orange creamsicle!
