Here is a PERSEC gem from TB
Re: Here is a PERSEC gem from TB
Yes, because the best first year dateaversary present is tossing out a kid.
Yep, yep. She won't regret her actions years from now.
I was telling J about this while he was half sleepy. This is how it went:
J: "Oh that's a nice wedding anniversary present."
Me: "They aren't married. They are 17 and dating."
J: "Oh well, I guess babies are the new gift trend in high school."
But didn't you know she is going to get her BSN and be a nurse
! Because baby is going to be sooo motivational at 3 in the morning when he is screaming his head off and she is studying for exams!
I hope she does for her and her son's sake because the likelihood of her HS relationship going the distance isn't very good and there's way more to life than popping a kid out at the ripe old age of 17.
I understand (not condone) that these situations happen but to be spouting out rainbows and glitter out of yours ass when faced with the situation just blows my mind. Couple that with the fact that's she's completely naive about personal information being served up like a buffet on the interwebz and I just have to go
.
This exactly. Which is also why I said what I said the way I did. She thinks its going to be easy. Its not. College is hard. Nursing programs are even harder. I hope for the sake of her son that she is able to do it, but without waking up and realizing that its going to difficult and its not all butterflies and sunshine, I don't think she will be able to. Which is very sad.
When I was 17, I wanted to be a physical therapist. Then I realized that I suck at math and science. Studying organic chemistry with a toddler is going to be a snap because her boyfriend always makes her feel better. I can't wait 'till I end up in the hospital and she's my nurse!

Why do kids think it's cool to have adult responsibilities? Why?!!
I kind of feel sorry for her, she is in for a huge wake up call.
When I was 17, I gave my boyfriend a watch for our one year anniversary. Either gifts have really changed for that age, or I should've loved him enough to pop a baby out.
When I was 17, the guy i was with tattooed my not so common name on himself.
My bad on that one.
The two plus sides:
1.) at least you have a pretty name
2.) at least it wasn't you who got the tattoo
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
This is full of win.
