SO P!SSED

Yesterday I hurt my shoulder. I went to afterhours care and since there now are NO doctors there the nurse said I can call him but this is not a dire emergancy and he wont come in.  She gave me motrin (which I have been taking for the last 10months anyway for another issue.  I couldnt sleep last night because it hurt so bad. They told me to call first thing in the moring to get an appointment.  I got up at 745 to call them at 8 when they opened and I got I am sorry this is a routine appointment we have none for the next 3 weeks. I will put your name on the waiting list and if something happens we will work down the list and your number 278.  This is not a rountine appoint you idiot!!!!!!

Right now I am waiting on H to get the kiddos ready and he is taking me almost an hour away to the E.R. I just want the pain to stop and to sleep!

Edit to clarify my thought!

Re: SO P!SSED

  • That sucks.  I'm sorry.  I hope it feels better soon.

  • I'm sorry you're frustrated, but a shoulder injury generally isn't an emergency.  It sucks, and it's painful, but they did give you painkillers.  They could give you stronger ones if that isn't working, but what else is it you expect them to do?  Usually with that sort of injury it's a wait and see type of thing.  And if after weeks it doesn't clear itself then they can look into more options.

I do hear you on how frustrating it is to get any appointment.  In general, it's a big ol' piss off.  I just think you may be overreacting slightly on this one.

Sibil yes a shoulder injury can be an emergancy, the fact that all the nurse wanted to do is give me motrin and not really look into other causes is lazy.

ETA Motrin is not a pain killer its a anti inflamatory, once the body has been on it for so long it can and does become non effective.
