My Franklinia tree has flower buds all over it!
This is so exciting. I've only had this tree for a year, and have moved it three times (most recently about 3 months ago).
This tree is just so delightfully unusual- the most common time of year for plants to bloom is spring. And usually it's pretty fast (several days) between buds breaking and full bloom. According to what I've read, the buds will swell over a few months, and bloom when the leaves are at the peak of fall color (which is a dramatic red)!
I can hardly wait to see this sight!

I bet it will be stunning, and look forward to pics.
I just geeked out a little reading the article linked to that one, and wished we had a climate suitable for one to grow. It would make a perfect specimen tree when I get one section of the back to grow. I love the historical significance too.
