Anyone know anything about hot yoga?

I'm trying to get motivated to exercise, and saw that a new place opened up near me that offered hot yoga. Anyone ever done it before? Was it effective? It was kind of pricey, so I won't be doing it too often, but I'd love to break up the typical treadmill and weights that I usually do.

I've done a few classes at my old club. I think yoga is great, but if you haven't done it before/regularly I don't think the hot yoga is where I'd want to start. I personally didn't care for it, but then again I hate being hot! It might be worth calling the club and asking the instructor some questions to see if it would be a good fit for you- GL!

  • I attend power hot yoga classes a couple of times a month and I love it.  That being said, you may want to try out a beginners yoga class before hopping into a hot yoga studio.  Although it can be for beginners, in my experience it is hard to just jump into a room that is 110 degrees if you are not used to yoga to begin with.

Anything is worth trying, but you may just want to start out with a beginner class first.
