    Why Victoria? I grew up in V-town and left on the first train smokin' after high school. On the up side you do have Halepaska's chocolate thumbprints...there is crack in those cookies...I swear.

    I grew up in Ganado. Tiny tiny little town on your way to Victoria from Houston. I got out also pretty fast.

    I grew up in Bloomington, which is even smaller than Victoria (about 15 mins from Victoria), but my parents moved there after I graduated and I have tons of family there, so I consider it "home." We go back about once a month to visit /see family. What took you there?

    About Halepaska's - Agreed! I also love their sugar cookies with the Sprinkles on them!

    Sorry to be so late to come back! I had almost given up hope! We actually live in Vanderbilt (about 5 miles away from Edna) because this is the husband's hometown. Every year I get the husband a vanilla cake with pineapple icing from Halepaska's! Love!

    My husband works there (for now). We tried living there for a year, but it just wasn't for us. It wasn't too bad though, just no where to eat, and an overwhelming number of rednecks.
