Welp, it's Monday and I'm exhausted, surprise surprise!
Our baseball tournament was fun. We won our game on Friday, won the first on on Saturday, lost but then won the second game by a technicality and lost the last game, giving us a 3-1 record for the first round of play. We went out as a team on a pubcrawl on Saturday night which was a lot of fun, but not such a good idea. Holy hell was I hungover on Sunday. Needless to say, we weren't too upset when we were eliminated from play by losing on Sunday.
I'm at work for a few hours before I head to the airport bound for Chicago. I'm only gone for 2 nights, but I had a really hard time saying goodbye to Derek this morning. I've traveled a good deal for work before, but this time just seems harder. I won't have much computer access over the next few days, so someone else will have to take over the morning thread!
How was everyone's weekend?
Re: Good Morning!
Hello ladies. Good weekend here, we had no plans made at all so it was quite nice to just relax and go at our own pace. Got some much needed shopping done on Saturday, but then had a bit of a movie mishap that night - we ended up seeing Senna (documentary on Formula 1 race car driver) when we meant to see Hanna (action suspense thriller)
. Not quite what we were expecting, but interesting nonetheless, once we realized we were in the totally wrong movie!
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year here so far, so we just wandered around the local park. I love it here during Wimbledon as well - they have a huge screen set up in the park outside our office and I just spent my lunchtime eating in the sun watching the tennis.

Good morning!
I had a great, free weekend. No marking! Whee! I made some really delicious rhubarb custard tarts on Saturday... too bad I totally messed up the way they looked! I tried to make free form galettes. Oh, so not a pretty sight. But really, really delicious.
It's my last Monday of the school year today. I've got two classes working on skits for our awards assembly, and then we're supposed to have an afternoon surprise... I have no idea what that could be, but I'm excited to find out.
We're off to the zoo tomorrow with all our grade 7s and 8s. It's supposed to thunderstorm all day. Ah booo...

Good Morning! I had a pretty good weekend. I had to work Saturday but since it's kind of a free be there day I worked on my Grandpa's photo book. I am compiling 80 years of photos and it is hard. I'm finally up to 1990.
Saturday I watched Hanna with Dh. Sushi I would have rather watched Senna. I love F1 racing. I felt that Hanna didn't really go anywhere so I was a bit disappointed. I thought it could easily have been 45 minutes long.
Sunday, Dh's parents and sister came over to meet up with Dh's Aunt and Grandpa that came into town. We took them to a great local bbq place. We also took my Mini and Dh's Grandpa had never ridden in a Mini or a convertible so it was a really fun ride.
This weekend wasn't too bad for a working weekend. Saturday was super busy and we didn't get a lunch and had to stay over 15 minutes and then yesterday I had to stay over 45 minutes, so 1.5 hours of overtime.
With all our issues going on at work (understaffed, but adding on new projects) it seems like things are just getting worse. They had hired 3 people (2 part time and a 3rd that I think will be full time) but the 3rd person can't start until Sept now (we were all told August) and one of the part timers quit after 2 days so now we are in an even worse situation than before now that vacations have started. I still like this position more than my old position from last year, but all our sacrifices and overtime is really starting to take a toll on people.
I have the next 2 days off for working the weekend and have lots of errands planned for today in addition to a long run and taking boy cat to the vet. Today is my brother's birthday so we are supposed to go over tonight for cake.
Morning ladies.
This weekend was a blast. Saturday we dropped the boys off a little early to my MIL, went home and got ready for my niece's graduation party. Stayed at the party for about an hour and then headed to a friends wedding. Umm yeah worst DJ in time at that reception. All I can say is, imagine lots of feedback, all oldies, who didn't tak requests really because he didn't have anything modern. The CD's the Bride gave him wouldn't work in his system. Someone went out and bought a bunch of cd's for him to play, but by the time she got back the place was pretty much cleared out. I felt bad for the bride.
Yesterday we went to 2nd graduation party, it was hot, but nice. Went home and did the usual cleaning.
We did decide over the weekend, that we are attempting our first camping trip with the boys. Since DH has part of next weekend off, we are bringing the boys camping Friday night. Guess it is time to break them in. I pray it isn't cold at night since we do only tents. I am excited and scared all at the same time.
Ha! Good to know we didn't miss out too much! If you love F1, you should definitely see Senna.

Hey all!
This weekend was relaxing - mostly hung around the house doing some cleaning, and went to the gym on Saturday and Sunday. I had book club yesterday and it was wonderful. We had it on a roof deck in the North End (Boston's Italian village) overlooking the Harbor and the skyline and it was the perfect night - I didn't want to leave! Unfortunately, this meant I drank far too much wine (and then went out with a couple girls for even MORE wine until nearly midnight) and man, I woke up this morning at 5:45 passed out on my bed naked, contacts still in my eyes, all the lights on, feeling ROUGH. I managed to get through an hour of power vinyasa though, and after a soy latte and lots of water am feeling much better. Note to self: drinking heavily on a Sunday is a poor idea.
Tonight I am going out to dinner with my aunt and uncle who are passing through town. I'm really just looking forward to getting home, though. Hope everyone has a nice Monday!
Good Morning! I really didn't want to get up this morning. I think I need a week long vacation.
Yesterday we went to the beerfest and it was great. Next time, we'll have to bring a designated driver so we can try more beers. I wrote a little summary in my blog with some of what we tried and liked.
This week should be work as usual. Nothing critical on the agenda as of now. I'm just working towards the three day weekend.

Good morning! My weekend didn't really go according to plan. I pulled something in my back on Friday afternoon. I decided that I probably wouldn't be much help at the farmer's market on Saturday morning so Kyle found a friend to go with him instead. I did manage to make it to the housewarming party and 40th birthday party, but I didn't stay at either event nearly as long as I originally planned. Yesterday I took it easy around the house and did some laundry and basic housework.
Today I'm back at work. My boss is off work all week, so I'm hoping for a nice quiet week around the office, although my morning started off quite the opposite of uneventful. As I was about to leave my house I noticed that we had standing water in our living room. I guess neither of us shut the windows last night before going to bed and then we had quite the storm last night. After cleaning that up I discovered a bird in our garage. The bird did not want to leave. Then I couldn't get the garage door to close for me. I guess Kyle had the same problem but just assumed that it was his remote not working correctly. Once I got to work, I had to plug in all of my electronics that had been unplugged due to a planned power outage in my building over the weekend. My computer did not enjoy the lack of electricity and took forever to start back up. I am hoping that the rest of my day goes more according to plan.
Morning! Weekend was fun--H called to let me know that an impromptu happy hour was happening at his office. We were going out to dinner, but he wanted to stop by there first. So tagged along and had fun. Nice people, his coworkers.
Saturday was errand day, Sunday was gym and errand day. We spent a bunch of time outside yesterday, just enjoying the sun and the not-so humid day.
Today marks the beginning of the end for me at this job. I hope it's not rough, but the VP's behavior on Friday tells me otherwise. We'll see.
Have a great one, ladies!
Amie - I hope your day gets better!
Good morning! My weekend didn't really go as planned either. Friday night we went out to dinner with J's parents, aunt and uncle. J's parents kept going on and on about how their friend is going to be a grandpa and how they think they are to young to be grandparents. J told them that we disagree and they all starred me down and his uncles asked if I as "bred" - WTF um no, for 1, I'm not a dog or a horse, and 2. I just drank a giant margarita in front of all of you!
Saturday I had planned on cleaning my house, grocery shopping, doing lawn work, etc. When I got back from the grocery store my MIL was sitting at my house (didn't call or anything just showed up and waited around). She wanted me to go shopping with her to get a shower gift for J's cousin. So I went shopping with her and didn't get anything else I wanted done.
Sunday J and I were going to go fishing...but my mom called freaking out needing help putting together a slide show of pictures of my grandparents for our family reunion next weekend, so I ended up helping her instead.
Ahoyhoy!
We got lots more work done around the house this weekend. It's becoming more and more awesome as time goes by, especially now that my old piano is in my possession! I am thrilled about that.

Good morning!
The weekend was good, busy of course but o well. I have been MIA some since work has taken over my life. We leave for vacation in 7 days. I will be back in Mississippi for about 15 hours before I have to catch a plane and head for South Boston, Virginia for the week. I am excited about Virginia even if it is a work trip. I have so much to get done since I will be gone for the next two weeks. I am going to be one busy girl this week.
Good morning, ladies!
We had a great weekend camping with friends. We rode our bicycles 94 miles, including 2 mountain passes and a bike path from Carbondale to Aspen. Plus a hike and some exploring at the marble quarry in Marble, Colorado. The Tomb of the Unknowns in DC is made from marble from this site. It was cool, but I'm really exhausted.
Have a great day, everyone!
Morning Ladies,
We're still here in Utah, Myles is still in the NICU, he's getting better every day. Our homestudy is being proofread right now, and our stupid child abuse clearance should be coming through today or tomorrow, so hopefully we'll be able to legally take custody of him Wednesday at the latest.
Today's plan hold Myles for the first time, and potentially feed him too. Other than that we might go exploring some more.
Saturday was a nice day to finally sleep in, once we got home from the vet for some more blood work for the pooch. Her numbers just keep declining and I think the vet is kind of having a WTF type of moment with all of this. They've now brought in other people to try and figure out what to do next. More blood work tonight (free of charge thankfully) to see if the new, crazy $$$ meds are doing anything worthwhile. Fingers crossed. I'm so sick of seeing her miserable and panting like a crazy person. Her back legs are really feeling the effects of all the steroids and such.
Otherwise, DH ripped out some bushes and we stayed outside for a bit.
Sunday I woke up with a headache that has been relentless ever since. Tylenol is such a joke. I can't wait to take my normal migraine meds again. I'm home from work today after an exhausting night of being in pain. Thankfully, the end is in sight. Hopefully the week goes better. Can't wait for a long weekend coming up.
