Restaurant rave-Sei in DC
DH and I went here on Friday night for a date and it was fabulous. Good drinks, great date atmosphere and the sushi was really awesome. We think it was way better than raku, hinode, the place in rockville town center and all the other local places we've tried. It also has the hands down best seaweed salad than any other sushi place we've been to both here and outside of the area. DH got some pork buns to start and he said they were AMAZING (i'm on a diet so didn't have any). I also thought it was pretty reasonably priced. For two drinks at dinner, 2 types of sashimi, the pork buns, seaweed salad and 3 rolls it was $99, which I didn't think was bad at all for dinner in the city (plus we have paid just as much or more for similar amounts of food at other sushi joints). We also had 2 drinks before dinner and a bottle of sake (me) and dessert (DH) at the bar after dinner so all in all it was expensive but since we rarely get date nights we decided to go all out. Anyway, big rave from us (there are more options at dinner than at lunch, FYI).

ooh, thanks! we just walked by there and wondered about it. having lived in nyc, we are a bit snobby about pan-asian because we have a favorite place there (it's actually one of our favorite restaurants anywhere).
Ooh good to know for next time!
