The best part of Monday is catching up with you ladies! How were your weekends?
Mine was good! Friday, I just food shopped, made dinner and relaxed. I also finished up the calligraphy project I was working on for a bride. Saturday, I had my friend's bridal shower. I don't know if you remember, but months ago I asked for advice on making her a honeymoon basket. It came out great and she LOVED it!!! Here's a pic before I put the cellphane on!
Yesterday, me and hubs intended on a beach day, but it was overcast and gray clouds all day. We went to the beach, but instead of setting up on the sand, we walked the boardwalk and the neighborhood instead (Spring Lake, our fave town). We had a picnic lunch by the lake, walked to get ice cream, and window shopped. It ended up being a perfect day together, even if I did get a nasty sunburn. Weird.
Re: How was your weekend?
That present/pacakge is AWESOME! Great job Allison!
My weekend was BUSY! We did our patio underneath our new deck and it was exhausting! I'm so tired (and sunburnt) today that I wish I would have taken off just to recover!

My weekend started out good but ended not so great.
Friday night DH got home early so we hung out at home.
Saturday he had to work in the morning and I got some stuff done at home. Then we went to the mall to eat and do a little shopping. We got home just before the storms started. Over night, our apartment got struck by lightning. We lost our computer, a tv, a lamp and our internet.
Yesterday we bummed around the apartment all day and grilled for dinner.
Today I have to deal with the insurance company and cable company so we can try to get our stuff replaced.

That gift is super cute!
My weekend was good, I had a shower to go to on Saturday and then a pig roast in Massachusetts. It was sooooo much fun but I will not be drinking Johnny Walker for a long long time.
Yesterday I was in full recorvery mode from the pig roast. We drove back from Mass, hung out in the back yard a bit and then watched True Blood last night.
Hoping this weekend flies by!
@ Alli cute gift and I LOVE spring lake too! Best B&Bs!
Friday I had practice w/ the kids.
Saturday I relaxed most of the day did a little straightening up of the house and then my sister and our friends came over and we played Bananagrams (look it up its fun its like group scrabble!)
Sunday we went to church (the priest who married us is moving to another parish
sad) then we went out for lunch at the diner and then food shopped for the week. I cooked dinner and DH trimmed the shrubs that were basically growing together over the path on our front walk...thankfully a body can once again fit between them. (He posted a pic on facebook and tagged me)
I actually started the claim yesterday. Today I have to go get a new modem for our internet and wait for the insurance adjuster to call me back. I really dislike dealing with insurance companies too.
Sorry to hear about this. I hope they can take care of everything for you. Being further south our storms weren't as bad Saturday night (Sunday however is a different story). A good tip though is to make sure you unplug anything of importance before storms come. I know its a PITA to do, but I've had my computer get hit by lightning so many times that it is worth it, lol. (Oh and surge protectors do not work when it comes to lightning strikes).
We didn't really do much this weekend. I have been putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls. I completed the hallway and am out of paint for the moment. I have 1 large vaulted wall, and the 2 story foyer walls to finish before our party on Sunday. Although, honestly if I didn't finish, I don't think anyone would notice it but me (it is white over the old dingy looking off-white). DH has finished most of our retaining wall. We need a few more stones to finish it off before the party. Other than that, I have just been working on getting the house cleaned up and making lists for groceries, as well as "to do" lists.
As Julie stated, we have had some nasty storms in STL. The storm that came through last night was the worst for us. I not positive what the winds mph was in my area, but up north winds were up to 60 to 70mph. The wind actually woke me up. I could the siding rattling, I thought it was going to be ripped off the house. Then I heard a long bang. I got up to see what it was. Apparently, the storm door wasn't latched all the way last night and the wind got a hold of it. The arm is actually bent making it hard to open and the trim around the top window is coming off which means the window could just fall out. From now on, I think I will make sure I lock my storm doors every night now too, lol. It looks like there is another storm brewing out west headed to STL again, yay.
Awesome gift basket!!! I see a market for that :-)) I'd buy one!
Let's see...the weekend was pretty good!
Friday: I worked from home, which is nice b/c, well, I'm home...but it was a busy day. Not a lot of "down" time...oh well - at least my doggies were with me on "take your dog to work day"...Haha!
Saturday: H and I drove up to Gettysburg, PA and had a really great date, the weather was awesome, and I brought my camera along and took some shots. I even got one or two that I think were pretty cool
Sunday: Did a little shopping and ran errands, but mostly just hung out at home. I did make us a delish steak dinner with salad, pineapple squash/eggplant and a fully stuffed baked potato...with coconut custard cream pie for dessert!
So excited about the two short work weeks coming up!!!
Well, I was off at noon on Friday and headed up to Omaha to be with my sister and nieces all weekend. When I got up there, I took Maggie to PetSmart for some grooming (nails, teeth, de-shedding bath), and went shopping while she was there. I went to Dress Barn (I love that place) and got two work dresses, then two sexy dresses! They look so good on me (which is rare for me to say about a piece of clothing!) I will wear one to my sister's surprise 30th in a few weeks and the second...I will FIND somewhere to wear it! : )
Then I spent the weekend hanging out with my sister and her girls since both our husbands were at golf outings all weekend. It was great! : )
Friday I went to the gym, then went out to Mexican with some friends and DH.
Saturday I went went to the beach for some relaxing girl time. Then Saturday night we went to a get together at my CrossFit gym with my gym peeps. It was nice and relaxing and fun.
Sunday we did a lot of house work. I got a really bad headache around 3 or so, and took a nap and watched some Eureka on Netflix. Then we went out to dinner are this awesome resturaunt that serves all organic stuff, and free range, hormone free, grass fed, local food.
We had some bad storms come through overnight and lost power (thank goodness I set an alarm on my phone on top of my regular alarm, since I knew it was important to be into work early today).
@Allison- totally agree catching up is the best part about Mondays! I love your honeymoon package, it's so sweet!
@Danie- I love those dresses! So pretty and esp the shade of purple!
I had a really nice weekend! Friday was low key, DH went to a home brewing class, SS went to a bday party so it was just me and SD for a bit and we went to Old Navy to get some tops.
Saturday we had Brenna and fiancee Josh over, they looked at a venue early in the day and came over at 3:45 or so. We made shish kabobs and drank beer in the backyard, and Brenna made a gorgeous trifle for dessert! It was delicious!
Sunday we took SD to the bus for going to camp, then I washed my car and relaxed for the rest of the day until DH called at 9 and invited me to come to a local bar to join him and some of the hockey team. We were home by 10ish so it was bedtime shortly after. Did not want to get up today!! I'm staying away from booze for the next 10 days to get my bloating under control before vacation.
