and back to monday...

what a great weekend!  friday we left work and headed down to mass.  we had a nice cozy dinner out, shared a bottle of wine in our room, and hit the hay.  saturday was the great rafting adventure...SO MUCH FUN :)  like the best thing ever in life.  i cannot wait to go back and do it again!  the water was the highest/fastest it has been in 22 years, so it was totally badass.  had a great dinner out at a local organic restaurant (best food i have had in months, hands down).  back to our hotel, hit the hay again.  sunday we took our time coming home, stopped and got lunch, broke my iphone (way to go, shauni), got it "fixed," got car sick, threw up, rested at home, went for a 4 mile run, showered, and hit the hay before 9 pm.  glorious.

so looking forward to some nice weather, good runs, and hopefully a busy/quick work week so the long weekend will show up before we know it :)

Re: and back to monday...

  • I'm so glad you guys had fun Shauni!

Saturday we both worked in the am. Greg met me my restaurant and we hung out he had some drinks. We went home ended up watching this wicked weird show on animal planet. My Cat Hell, it's the cat whisper. The guy is a real weirdo. We put it on because I wanted to see what it was and we ended up watching like 3 episodes. Pierce also seems to have forgotten how to roll over so we were trying to get him to do that.

Sunday, we had a very lazy morning. Then went to Hooters, there we soooo many children. We find it very weird how it is so family oriented in Florida. We were going to go home and clean but our friend called us and we ended up going to Applebees with him. Did some grocery shopping never ended up cleaning.

  • Your white water rafting extravaganza sounds kick azz!

I cannot believe it's the week before July 4.

True Blood was just eh last night. Too much going on. I hope they don't do what Big Love did and jam a million story lines onto the show at once. That always sucks.

Gus had a different agenda than the rest of us and did not want to go to sleep last night. I was up until around one, breaking my three night 8 hours of sleep streak. Balls. Tired as h-e-double l.

It's another glorious day. I spent a lot of time outside this weekend. Many inside chores didn't get done and I simply don't care. I didn't want to be inside.

I had a really good weekend. Just chilled outside Friday with MFD and dined al fresco, then I made lemon pie, cleaned the kitchen and ran the dishwasher. Saturday I made a nice breakfast and ate out back, then I made mac salad, orzo salad, chicken salad and cucumber salad. I was at Produce Junction twice in addition to Home Depot and Marshall's. I did yard work and had a nice low key fun night at Michelle and Jamie's. MFD had mummery all day and met me there. We were home by 11:30. Sunday I did more yard work then went to PetSmart and Target with Debbie. After that we went to a family party where we lingered for a long time because the weather was so nice. MFD and I came home and talked to our neighbor for a while, then watched True Blood, Celebrity Rehab and Ice Loves Coco.

Early dismissal on Friday! We piece out at noon.

  • Monday. *sigh* had a good weekend. Friday night was mostly a bust b/c I had to work and only made a whopping $17. Saturday hubs and I got up early and had a successful garage saling day. Best (and most expensive) purchase was a like new hammock. :) also picked up a youth riding helmet for the neices and nephews to wear while riding with us on four wheelers. Hubs grabbed up a brand spanking new with tags pair of riding pants in his size. Not that he needed them, but whatever. Had an awesome smoked pork loin dinner with the aunt and uncle. Got pissed at my mother for acting like a five year old and gtoing inside my grandma's house and staying there when hubs amd I showed up. (If you don't remember she doesn't approve of hubby.) Grr. So angry with her attitude. Sunday was mostly a lazy day, but I did manage to make/sew a six foot long drawstring type bag to hold and carry the hammock when it's in peices. Cleaned up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher. Also made fajitas for dinner. Mmm. And I didn't call my mom back when she called to 'see what I got at the sales' trying to figure out how to talk to her about her shiiiitty actions without causing a screaming fight. Today I am thinking I will be using some time to try to finish quilting the quilt I have been working on forever and possibly scrapbooking too. I am sooo behind. Might also be lazing about in the hammock. :)

  • I want a hammock! A pox on your mother's attitude and the busted $17 haul. Boo.

  • Thank sweet baby butterfly farts that it is only a 3 day week for me.

Friday night was fricken amazing! Longest wedding ever though, I love when people add their own touches to things but not 3 1/2 hours of slide shows and all 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen giving speaches. I dunno maybe I was just pissy.

Saturday night was an epic fail. Horribly.

Yesterday I showered and put jammies back on. we took a 3hr nap and went to be at 930. Good thing because I slept like complete dog poo. Does dog poo sleep?

  • Boo for Monday :(

My weekend was good; except for when the supposed crazy lady next door to me decided to put her dog outside at 6am and it started barking every few minutes beginning at 6:30am and didn't stop until 10am when she brought her dog in. Since we've been hearing this dog since we moved in, I called AC on her and filed a complaint, I'll be sending her an anonymous letter as this shiiit is getting old. Her dog is better off with a family that cares and loves it and doesn't leave it out for hours on end. DH and I also put up our pop up gazebo on our deck, so much better too in the afternoon. We went grocery shopping, to Petsmart, had lunch at this diner and went on a short run in the evening. Yesterday, DH's parents called me and asked if I liked this patio set that we saw at K-Mart (don't judge, lol) and I said yes..they ended up buying it for us, so exciting. And that this was our combined birthday gifts....IL's and I put it together since DH was at work and it looks awesome. We even had dinner out there last night too.

Today - work (boo) and then we're taking the dog on a short run after.

Thanks Steph. We only paid $75 for this double sized one that only had a smidge of wear on the frame where the pieces go together ... the hammock itself looks brand new. I would like to send a pox to her right now for sure. I've been all nicey nice for MONTHS, and to have her treat hubby like that makes me want to punch her in the face. How dare she.

  • Went to dinner and to see West Side Story on Friday night in Boston with my family.  It was so good to see my dad, who I didn't get to see on Father's Day, and my sister, who I've been worried about lately.  We had a really nice time, but I got slightly annoyed when my sister actually complained that we didn't get dessert at the restaurant after our meal.  This is coming from the girl who lives at home and has NO money of her own.  Everything is paid for her by my parents, right down to the bottle of water she asked for at the theater and she still gets to go out in Boston and see Broadway shows.  Don't open your mouth about not getting desert after your expensive steak dinner - just don't.  Spoiled much?

Other than that, H and I ran some errands on Saturday which included getting him measured for his wedding party tux for our friends' wedding, and cooked on the grill.  Sunday was a lazy day at home except I did do an hour on the treadmill both days plus some crunches and weight training intervals.

Today I have NO motivation to work in anticipation of H's and my upcoming weekend trip to NY!  SO excited!  Also, our breeder just e-mailed me to say the little momma is getting bigger and she'll be getting an ultrasound soon to see exactly how many puppies are in her litter.  Pups are due the end of next month which means we can take one home the end of September / early October.  Seems like everything is still a go!  Can't wait until they are born so H and I can pick one out - he is getting really excited about it now!  H and I are planning to move out to NY in a couple years and recently decided that it doesn't make sense to have kids until after the move.  Since I have to wait longer now, getting a dog will definitely help curb my baby fever =).

  • I've felt like punching people in the face since about 9 am and it's only 10:25 now.  Gonna be a long week.

Had a good weekend.  Saturday night had a couple friends over and then went to a beer tent.  Obviously couldn't drink, but danced and had fun.

Yesterday was gorgeous so we went up to the car show that was going on in town.  Then went to the zoo.  Our zoo is free, so on nice days it gets super busy and yesterday was no exception.  But I got some sun and was happy about that!

Today is annoying me.  My computer is being ridiculous.  I literally have to call the IT helpdesk once a week for something.  ugh!

And I found out friday that one of my co-workers whom I told, in confidence, that I was pregnant, has taken it upon herself to tell others.  Thanks jerk.  So I'm avoided walking by her office today b/c I might go off on her.  When I sent her an email on friday saying "please don't tell anyone MY news" she wrote back and said "I won't say anything.  But just so you know, a lot of people know already."  Yeah, well, it doesn't help that 3 people speficially came up to congratulate me and said "ahhh, Julie told me the good news!!"

Sorry I'm such a debbie downer lately!!  (no offense Deb!!!  Smile)   Hormones are a raging!

    Happy monday all!

and im starving.  and still broke.  and now i am dressless as well.  horrible.  whiney. miserable.

  • Shauni that is rough Im sorry!
  • Well Friday was finally my last day of skating besides my test. Since I tested early in the morning Saturday I splurged on a hotel room and enjoyed the hot tub and peace and quiet. Then went back to the rink Friday night to watch some of the other tests going on. Saturday was the test, which I passed!!! Then drove home, had dinner with the ILs and family, and crashed early.

Yesterday we went to the beach for a few hours and managed to get a slight sun burn. We both worked last night.

Today is all about cleaning and catching up on everything I have neglected for the last two weeks. Bummer...

  • Morning ladies.  I'm still here at work.  I was so prepared to give notice but I really took Steph's advice into consideration and decided to stick it out until I found something else.  I can't afford to be jobless.  I don't think I'll be getting laid off.  I listened to my stupid co-worker who told me that I would be training my replacement last Monday.  Ha!  What a fool I was for listening to him, he's so full of it.  He's the one training his replacement since he's leaving this week.

Enough about work.  I had a great weekend.  Sat we went to watch Bad Teacher and went to the mall.  We went to The Cheesecake Factory and I almost bought a slice of The Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake...I want to make one this weekend.  Sunday we cleaned house, washed the car and did laundry.  All in all it was a productive weekend.

  • A hex on negative bank accounts, blabbermouth coworkers, spoiled sisters with no jobs, ahole coworkers, and malfunctioning clothing. Anything I forgot that's bad, a hex on that too.

I am working myself into a snit thinking about my inlaws. Merely thinking about them. I hate them and wish I had better ones and felt sorry for myself for three minutes then I thought eff them, I have so many awesome people in my life, I don't need them. Including a cousin and aunt on the inlaw side that are completely awesome and other cousins that are great too. So enough of the pity party.

Jessie, I am so sorry the windfarm farted out on you this weekend. Do over!

    Fourth Anniversary

Leo - sweet present!  We got our patio set at Kmart the summer we moved in (2009), when we couldn't agree on anything, and had been to about a dozen stores.  It was on super closeout, and we got a table and 8 chairs w/cushions for $160.  Insane.

I'm here being pissy about having too much to do before I leave for PA.  We take a red-eye on Thursday night.  H has a ton of work for his demand cycle as well, so he's anticipating lots of takeout this week, but literally nothing sounds good to me, so we both end up frustrated when trying to figure out meals.

I did do a nice all-grill meal last night of chicken breast, then zucchini and a potato in separate foil packets.  My first time experimenting with foil on the grill.  Yummo, and healthy.

My bump basically disappeared this weekend, and I'm a little bummed about it.  It's really bizarre!  I can feel Predator kicking away in there, so I assume all is well, but it was strange to wake up Saturday with half the bump.  I'm even wearing regular pants today, but with the BeBand.

  • Jessie - Sat was a fail? What happened?  Wasn't that the Rocking the Windfarm thing?  :(

Moleson - boo to your icky coworker.  Like Wtf?  That is NOT cool.  Although...I  do know how tough it is to sit on exciting news.   I just found out that one of my friends is preggers with twins.  We are a month apart.  This could literally change my life :)  I was all bummed that we were the only ones of our friend that would have kids running around.

MushE - how does a bump just disappear?  I'm so baffled :|

So.....this weekend, I am ashamed but happy to say that I FINALLY got my thank you cards out.   I know 81/2months late.  That's how tacky and classless I am.  At least it's better late than never.  And I added a nice photo to appease any etiquettely rigid recipients.  The only reason I pulled it off is because my BFF came to visit and she insited we do them.  She wrote more than half of them.  I loves her.

This morning I spend the whole day in the doctor's office getting blood draws and getting probbed.  I've been spotting and cramping.  They think everything is most likely fine, but they want to run more tests.  Fun stuff.

Damn...I apologize for what I now realize was a lengthy missive.

Dia - Sending you lots of good vibes that all your tests come back good, and the spotting/cramping stops.

I'm not sure on the bump disappearing, to be honest.  I suppose there's still a component of it that is bloat, and maybe I just stopped retaining water, etc so much?  Another girl on my BMB posted on our FB group wall the same day, so I was commiserating with her.

So how does your husband feel about his family?  Does he have problems with them too?  I mean, is he able to see why you get frustrated.

Although I'm NOT thankful for the IL drama that I have, I AM thankful that most of the time, J is just as annoyed as I am, so it's not like he's sitting there feeling like i'm just picking on his family or anything like that.

At least you sent yours out. One of my cousins got married in Sept 2009 and I haven't received a thank you note from them, or from the baby gifts that DH and I got them for their baby shower...and the baby is almost a year old now. Another cousin got married in Oct 2010, although you could give them cash as gift for their honeymoon, I think they still should have sent cards out as I know some people traveled to their wedding (like me) and yet no card. I just don't get some people.

At first I was more mad b/c at least 1 of the people she told, is my employee.  So I wanted to tell the people I supervise during their performance reviews which are this week.  That way we could also start discussing how their roles might change when I'm on maternity leave.

But then the more I thought about it, the more I realized, "this is my news.  Unless you are related to this child, delievering this child, or helped make this child, this is NOT your news to share in the workplace."
