Seriously, people are capable of some insensitive crap.
My one really good military wife friend sent me a link to an article about SERE, knowing that my husband is going through it right now.
Because reading a fairly detailed account of them getting beat up is going to make me feel less worried. Right.
And, today is our wedding anniversary. I'm already sad and stressed out. Everyone I knows way of being "supportive" is exactly the opposite. I wish I could just kick them all.
To add to these two craptastic days, our puppy decided to become a crazed humper this morning.
Thanks for listening! Lets all have a drink (virgin for the pregnant ladies).

Re: Friends can be a-holes sometimes- vent.
Awe hugs to you. I hate when people (friends) do stupid stuff!!! You almost want to ask them...are you really that unfeeling.
Thanks for the drink...I will take the blue one!
PS- your puppy is super cute!
Some people just don't think. I have an acquaintance who I've decided should just stop speaking to me about the military. I think she is truly trying to be sympathetic and participate in a conversation with me but she just misses the boat every time.
I like the peachy drink on the far left.
Seriously, throw that article away. We all know that SERE sucks, there is no need to dive further into that. He will be back soon.
Go out and get yourself a "Happy Anniversary" present to yourself. If you can, get on the phone with your H and talk a little.
Sorry that you are having a tough time.
Examples of what NOT to say to someone.......
I'm sorry she didn't think. Happy Anniversary tho. **passes out virgin and alcoholic margaritas**
Hope your day turned around. Happy Anniversary!
And cheers!
I have a friend who always sends me links to articles written about what MH does. She'll send me links to things and say, "Didn't know if you knew about this." No, I have no idea what my husband does. These links also include links to press releases concerning deaths of our guys. "Did you know a guy died?" (smile & breathe) "Yes, they call all of us to let us know days before the press release goes out. Thanks for reminding me, though."
Long story short, people suck. Just try to blow it off. She probably means well.
The "pink" one looks like my new fave - vodka and raspberry ginger ale. yum!
Just delete those things...Wait until you hear your husband's version and know that he will be OK. You probably feel it more because it IS your anniversary and you miss him. Whoever said you should get yourself a little something to brighten your day is absolutely right! Go shopping and clear your mind.
