because my husband isn't a doctor-
I know you guys aren't doctors either, but I'm just looking for advice.
So, I did something to my ankle this morning when I was running. I initially thought I twisted it because I couldn't put weight on it. But, within a couple of minutes, it felt fine and I ran the rest of my run. No pain at all. So, about an hour ago it started to have a tender spot if I pushed on it (yes, I'm like a child). Now it is starting to hurt just sitting here. I was also smart and wore heels today.
Up until what point am I ok? When do I need to see a doctor? I've never done something to my ankle before...
Re: because my husband isn't a doctor-
When I was at my old job, parking sucked so I had to park on the side of the road and walk through a wooded area in heels. I fell one day and twisted my ankle. It hurt pretty bad for a few minute. But once I got settled at my desk, it was fine. Five hours later, I stood up to go to lunch and I couldn't put any pressure on it and it was huge! The doctor told me I shouldve elevated it immediately and iced it. He sent me home to do just that, take it easy, and keep it wrapped with an Ace bandage.
I would try icing/elevating it and taking it easy for a few days. If it still hurts, then go to the doctor.
I hope you feel better!
