If I have to miss vacation b/c of work
I am going to be one pissed young woman and I can't even fathom what DH will do.
I have just spent the last 6.5 hours on various conference calls with people trying to get ready for my briefing tomorrow. I have another call at 3.
Now there is a chance that due to the way they want things done now I will need to be in the office next week when I am supposed to be in the OBX.
FML.

O.M.G. that will be terrible. I reallllly hope that's not the case. Are you absolutely the only person that can do the stuff? I really hope something else is figured out. Any way to do things remotely if necessary?
I would have a fit. I really hope you don't get screwed for your vacation.
If all I have to do is have someone send out a letter and/or receive proposals sure, but apparently they may want us to actually talk to contractors and get our evaluation folks back in and whole bunch of other stuff that we haven't done before and so then, yeah I'll have to be here for that.
I have use or lose vacation too, so I need to take time off.

OMG I would go batshitcrazy on my supervisor. Do you have proof anywhere that they approved your PTO for next week? I would take that, along with my confirmation for travel to OBX directly to your boss if they tell you that you have to come in next week.
It seems to me that the "higher ups" at your facility need to get their sh!t together!
