I also need book recs

I just finished New York by Edward Rutherfurd (historical fiction).

I am right now reading  Sookie Stackhouse book (mental palate cleanser).

I need something else to read, as I'm pretty sure I'll finish Sookie in a few days, and this weekend I'll be on a boat and nothing is more relaxing to me than reading in the sun.

I don't think I'm interested in Room or The Help.  Let's have your recs!

Re: I also need book recs

  • I just finished 2 books by Jeannette Walls a few weeks ago and I recommend them both. Half Broke Horses and The Glass Castle. Horses comes first technically, but I read Castle first. They're memoirs, but super short chapters and really easy to get through.
  • unbroken by laura hillenbrand. it's very inspirational and is a true story about a POW in WWII. A very quick read too.
  • Lone Survivor

Not my normal read, but it's got some of the best reviews I've ever seen. I've just started it and it's really good, but it probably a heavy read.

I just finished this book INCREDIBLE. I will never look at my grandfather's generation the same way again. My grandfather is a WWII pacific vet.

I feel like a better human being for having read and experienced this book. It haunts me, so incredible.
