my small AW

We just bought plane tickets to go to Australia! We cashed in all of my United frequent flyer miles and all of our credit card miles to pay for the tickets. (Otherwise just getting there and back would have been $4000+ yikes!) We are going in March, because that was the first available date for the FF miles. We haven't decided if we're just going to stay in Australia or try to see some of New Zealand too. It's kind of fun to be back in that initial planning stage, but also intimidating because there is just so much there.

DH and I have also been talking more about when we want to TTC. When we first got married, we said we'd start when I turned 30, which is this October. But now with this trip planned I guess that will be delayed some. I have mixed feelings about that... But I think I need to try harder to appreciate and not take for granted the time we have now with just the two of us.

  • That sounds like an amazing trip!

ETA: Maybe this trip should be your conception moon or whatever that crazy girl called it.

  • That sounds amazing!!! And wow, huge savings!

Now I get why you were asking about travelling pregnant ;) I honestly can't imagine how long a plane ride to Australia is for a normal person, but for a pregnant one, it would be hell. I agree with PP's, definitely use the trip as a TTC vacation - maybe one day you can tell your child they were conceived in Australia!

  • Wow, that sounds like a great trip!  And yay for TTC on vacation.  I'm having a Hawaii baby.  My step-brother and his wife just announced they're pregnant.  It's a Barbados baby.  haha
  • Wow that sounds fabulous!  Do all you can before TTC....you never know how fast it can happen!
