Do you still go to an interview if you have a cold?

or do you try to reschedule?

I have an interview Wednesday and I feel a cold coming on.

Re: Do you still go to an interview if you have a cold?

  • I would still go. If you have a cold by then, take your own tissues and hand sanitizer. Take Emergen-C, drink a lot of water, and eat a lot of fruits loaded with vitamin C. If you can, get your  hands on Naked juice immune boost. I drank this when I felt a cold coming on and it didn't end up getting sick.

  • Thanks! I'll try everything you said. Hopefully it won't turn into anything but I have a tickle in my throat and feel tired and not entirely myself. The interview includes a presentation so I sincerely hope I can fight this, at least until the interview is over!

I had this same debate with myself today - I opted to go.

My most irritating and obvious symptoms are a runny nose and cough. Extra time spent blowing my nose (and washing my hands!) and a glass of water during the interview miraculously kept all my symptoms at bay the entire time.

And ditto PP's suggestion about vitamin C. Good luck!

  • I would absolutely still go for something as minor as a cold.

  • I got a great job and during my interview I had a high fever and felt like I was going to pass out!

Definitely go, rescheduling will not make you look flexible.
