Got an e-mail this morning from the rescue group I work with and they had a recent scare with one of the hounds and are now in need of some help! So if you love coffee and feel the urge to help, it would be greatly appreciated
Last week
was quite a week for Ethel!

Ethel
is a sweet, senior Basset that is in foster care with BBR. Some of you
may remember her, as she was featured in a Foster Bark not too long ago.
Last week, she got into what could have been fatal trouble by eating a
box of syringes which resulted in trips to three different vets
and surgery to save her life.
The two hour surgery resulted in 7 syringes as well as other
'non-food' items being removed from Ethel's stomach. One of the syringes
was poking through her stomach into liver. We are unsure what Ethel
could have been thinking by eating these items!
Ethel made it through surgery and is back with her foster family,
resting comfortably. Her incision is almost 20 inches long! She is on
soft foods this week and hopefully next week will transition slowly to
her regular food.
Many of you may also remember a recent plea BBR sent out asking for
donations. Well, you can imagine the unexpectent strain that Ethel's
surgery has put on BBR. Ethel's surgery cost BBR just under $3000.

We have good news! The wonderful folks at
Moon Doggie Coffee Roasters have
graciously volunteered to do a fundraiser on behalf of Ethel. A
percentage of all sales will be donated to BBR to help with Ethel's
surgery costs. Moon Doggie offers great coffee at reasonable prices and
they also have other great non-coffee items so you don't need to be a
coffee lover to participate.
Ordering from Moon Doggie's couldn't be easier. Just visit
their site and place your order, in
the notes mention 'Ethel' and a percentage of the sale will go to BBR.
How easy is that!
We'll be sure to keep everyone up to date on Ethel, via the
BBR Facebook page. Until then,
please keep her in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.
Sincerely,

Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc.
Re: Coffee / Animal Lovers
I opened this up curious to see what the connection was.
Very sweet thing for them to do....poor puppy though!
