grilled pizza??

i noticed several of you plan to grill pizza this week.  How do you do this?  Is your grill charcoal or gas?  I'm very intrigued by this.  I love to grill (and since we still have no oven I am using the grill all.the.time)

Re: grilled pizza??

  • We had grilled pizza for dinner last night.  We purchase a pre-made crust, add sauce and toppings, and cook for ~8 minutes.  It might actually be less time than that.

    We have a gas grill.

  • We use our regular gas grill.  I just put some olive oil on the bottom of the pizza.  I really like to make pizza on the grill using Naan as the crust.

We have a gas grill and brush olive oil on one side.  We grill for a few minutes and when the side gets bubbly, we flip (usually while the first side is cooking we put olive oil on the second side).  Then we put on the sauce, cheese and toppings.  You'll want to make sure any toppings that need to be cooked are cooked before you grill.

    It is so tasty!

    Ditto!

  • We use homemade crust - drizzle with olive oil, grill for about 5 minutes on one side, flip, add the toppings, and grill for about 7 minutes more or so, until everything is melted.

If I'm putting any kind of meat on it I cook that separately and then put it on the pizza.

  • Do you guys put the crust right on the grill? Or use something like a pizza stone, pan or foil? This sounds yummy and I think I may try it.

We put it directly on the grill.
