Thank you, New York!

As of June 2011, 10 states have legalized same-sex marriage. We're 20% there... slowly, but surely. I hope in my daugher's lifetime she gets to see that map up there 100% blue. That would be my wish to her.

Re: I'm gonna say it...
I also hope this maps turns completely blue.
Every time one of the states turns blue I call my parents and ask them if they're considering traveling to get married, but it is really important for them to do it at home, in a state that I feel like will never get there. Or, if it does, it will be one of the last, since it was the first to ban it.
Stand up for something you believe in.
What are the stripey ones?
I love feather ruffling! AND I love gay people! It's a win/win.
Oh, and...
I was trying to figure that out myself. There's no legend for it so I think it's undecided between those two specific colors?

I agree, I think that what its supposed to mean.
Either way, I would love to see this map in full blue as well. I lived in Cali for the Prop 8 BS and was so so disappointed with the voters. But with it being overturned for being unconstitutionally on the ballot, I think theres still hope for that state.
Yay for all blue!
Regarding the stripes, it means both things apply. Some of those things aren't mutually exclusive. For example, California bans same sex marriage but grants domestic partnerships (or whatever they're calling it). It's not considered "marriage" since there are some benefits domestic partners can't have that married couples can.
LOVE IT! And hooray for NY! I also wish that my (not born yet) children can live in a world with all blue states
