I had just signed out of my email and when I do that it takes me to the Yahoo home page and I will usally click on a article or two to see whats going on. Well one popped up about a girl that was sueing A&F because she was fired over her hijab(please forgive me if that is not spelled correctly).
The article itself was written okay and you can find it here http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Muslim-woman-sues-Abercrombie-apf-2955306870.html?x=0
But what really got me is 90% of the comments. They are just plain hateful, rude, racist, and unamerican. It really saddens me that some of these people have to much hate and are so racist that they have to spew the gargabe that they were/are. It also saddens me that this will be taught to their children and so forth and the issues will keep going on a never ending cycle.
Re: Wow I can not believe some of the things I just read!
I really don't like that store...I choke every time i walk by one and the mall where I live have two...really do we need two???
I some time have to stop reading the stories on yahoo because of the comments. It shocks me too!
Just because a person is Muslim doesnt mean they are a terriorist or out to get you and take over the country!
Edit for spelling but I still do not think its right. I blame the Valium!!
The people who post on Yahoo are known to be idiots. I just ignore them.
I do think that it is outrageous that she was fired for her religion, though. I hope that she wins the case.
This...
In addition to racist comments there is just the general ignorance. Like the people saying she should have to comply with the dress code. They seem to miss the part where she was hired wearing the hijab and told she was allowed to wear it as long as it was in "company colors". It's not like she just showed up wearing a head scarf one day and tried to claim freedom of religion.
Reading the comments on the articles can be bad. Especially if it is an article where you know the person it is about.
