6.       I feel like DH and I have been SO focused on where we were going to live that we haven?t allowed the pregnancy to be the center of our universe quite yet. This is good and bad.

7.      I saw that both jholbel and jennic22 have started to register. I have not. See #6. I think this part is bad!

Don't worry, you have plenty of time!  Registering was so so so overwhelming and I still need to do a lot of research which is why I went early.  My shower is 12 weeks away, which means invites will go out in 6 or so.  I plan to spent the next 6 weeks doing some research, editing online, and maybe going back to the store to fine tune.  We'll see.

  • I registered a little earlier than I was planning on.  I wanted to go with my sister & we only had one weekend that we were both free for a little while.

So long as you have it done by the time your shower invitations go out, you're fine!

I totally suggest going in and doing the scanning gun thing first, but planning on doing more research and fiddling with the registry afterwards.  It seemed so overwhelming when I had nothing, but once I had a list of stuff to work off of, it wasn't so bad - you just have to take it one thing at a time.

Oh, and congrats on the new house!  I'm sure you'll feel a lot better once you're moved in.

  • Thanks girls!

There is going to be a LOT to do and I just don't want to wait until the total last minute...which I tend to do. The good news is that we'll be able to shift our focus in just a week and a half or so.  Not that the house will be totally done or anything but at least we'll have a roof over our heads.  It will be the first time in our relationship that our living situation wasn't temporary.  I'm SO looking forward to building a family and laying roots with DH!

Where did you both register? Can you hide your registry until it?s done? Maybe we can compare registries/research later!

I registered at Babies R Us.  I still need to go clean it up, but you can view it as I don't think there is a way to make it private.  I doubt anyone will see mine since invites haven't even gone out yet.

I am also registering at Target because the bedding I want is from there.  I also might add a few other things if there is something I like better from there.

  • I just registered at BRU.  It's more universal than something like buy buy baby, and I really didn't want to do more than one store (I'm lazy like that).  There are a couple things I want from Target, though, so we're just going to buy them ourselves.  You can look up my registry if you'd like (I'll PM you my last name) but there's a decent amount of stuff missing from it.  My youngest niece will be 13 months when the pumpkin is born, so I'm getting a ton of hand-me-downs.

Let us know if you have any questions - and I think the local bump girls give pretty good advice too.
