Food confessions

We did this once before and it was fun. Post any and all food-related confessions here.

Edit: Feel free to bare your soul. I know somebody on this board ate a whole box of cookies last night. We won't judge.

Re: Food confessions

  • I paid $1.25 for a tomato at the farmers market this weekend. I was kicking myself. Then I tasted it. Omg, that was the best tomato I've had in my life. I had cut it up for burritos and I ate the rest of the tomato solo off the dish with my fingers. Yummy.

  • I am planning our menu for camping next week and I am sick of just burgers, chicken, etc. that DH suggested.

So I am going through my google reader to get some ideas and quinoa is on our menu a few times. If DH does not like it, he can go to the trading post and get a burger.

Also, I plan to make things ahead of time b/c I hate using stuff out of a can that I can make 100x better. For example, I am making refried beans, bake beans and black beans.

It really annoys/ hurts me that unless it's Apple pie or brownies or chocolate chip cookies hubs won't try my treats. I love baking, but it's so anti climatic to Have someone not want to try it. Also I really like jacks spicy chicken and sandwhiches and curly fries. The one near my house has been calling my name. I fear I will give in soon and partake.

  • I love del taco!
  • I am completely and utterly addicted to cheese. I'd say it's a problem, but it's one of my main calcium/protein sources these days! Every day, I eat a zucchini or tomato with melted cheese. This week, I went to a friend's house and was eating chunks of queso fresco out of the bowl!

Me too! I hate milk and lately yogurt hasn't been agreeing with me. I also like ice cream way too much. It's dangerous if I buy it. I caved and got some yesterday because I wanted something to cool off with after packing. I may have eaten some straight out of the container. Embarrassed

I feel like this about cooking sometimes. DH won't really try most of the things I want to make. And if he does try it, he doesn't like it. This is why I have been trying to invite people over to eat what a cook instead of going out as much. I love spicy chicken sandwiches from Wendy's esp with a Frosty...
  • Some nights when I work super late, I stop at Wendy's on the way home for French fries. I eat them before I get home and destroy all the evidence  Stick out tongue

  • I'm off the vegetarian bandwagon. I ate a hamburger back in May and have been sampling meat here and there since. I haven't told my fairly militant veggie SIL. :)

  • I am growing zucchini in my garden, I am ashamed to say I just was not checking it and I Iooked under the leaves on Saturday, OMG enormous zucchini - I am hoping I can use the 2 I cut off before the rest get that big.
  • I had two (small) pieces of carrot cake today.  And a root beer float.  Embarrassed

  • I love French style pastries with fruit. Especially apricot or rhubarb or pear. YUM. I don't crave things very often. Unfortunately when I do, they are things you can't buy here. You have to get them in Europe or make them yourself.

    I don't like chocolate.

I love milk. I could easily drink a gallon a day. EASY. I honestly think being Swiss helps me digest milk in ways that other people can't. II mean Switzerland LOVES the cow. LOVES IT.

    I love goat.

I love chicken, but turkey is blah.

    That is all.

You are a very bad Swissie for not liking chocolate! I can't drink milk at all, I have always hated it cold. But I love hot cocoa and cheese and chocolate and ice cream.
  • I hit my WW goal prior to the weekend, but, after a weekend of extensive winetasting, drinking, and eating amazing food, I am back to being a few pounds from my goal. DH did the same and is freaking out about it. I'm just like "fvck it". I had a blast this weekend and I've already proven I can lose the weight so I'll just lose it again in the next few weeks. In the big picture, who really cares?

I freaking love hot dogs and sausages. It's possibly the most disgusting form (compilation? ha! ) of meat ever, but omg it tastes delicious to me. My absolute mission is to have (chicken or turkey) hot dogs this 4th of July. I keep going to BBQs unprepared (and they only have beef dogs) and this will not be happening again! ;)

I'm with Roni on loving milk. Growing up I had a huge glass or more of whole milk with nearly every meal. Now I'm forced to drink 1% and only sometimes, but I seriously love the stuff and would drink it constantly if I wouldn't turn into the size of a cow. My love for cheese is also insane.

  • I don't, but I *COULD* eat butter and drink whipping cream plain. :-

I ate a mini cupcake for breakfast this morning. :)

  • A pint of ice cream will never last in our house. I usually have good self-control (although I do get tempted easily), my DH will polish it off in one night.

Same thing with cookies - I love making them but also like eating them.

And I also don't like avocados - this may come as a huge shock to some, lol.

  • I'm addicted to hot cheetos. I only eat the baked kind and they no longer sell them in the Fresno area. Every time and I go down to LA to see his family I always stop at the grocery store and stock up on baked hot cheetos. In high school, I used to get hot cheetos with a paper boat of nacho cheese and dip the cheetos in the cheese. Of course, this was at a point in my life where I could eat pretty much anything and not gain weight. Just thinking about it now is making my butt bigger.

Every now and I then I get a strange craving for Cup Noddles. I never get it because it has WAY too much salt.
