I go back to my hometown (30 miles from where I live now) for 3 main reasons:
1. my hair stylist
2. HomeGoods
3. subs from the town pizza place
And I will continue to go there for all of these things for as long as I possibly can.
I still go to my hometown stylist too.
I had Oreos every day last week, cookies and cream milkshakes on Friday and Sunday and three Oreo cupcakes on Saturday.
You know it's bad when the guy at the ice cream shop waves at you because he recognizes you from two days earlier.
2012 Reading Challenge
Last night I had a dream that I was Robert Pattinson's bff and we held hands everywhere we went. SO weird, but oddly satisfying.

I deliberately put off going to the hairstylist until I go home to CO
well these interesting dreams involve a co-worker.
I did the same through 4 years of college - I have not seen another stylist in over 8 years and haven't been to a different salon in 12 years.
I drive to 45 minutes to go my hair stylist and she is the only person in my entire life that has given me a great haircut and I will not stop any time soon. I love her, it drives my husband crazy but tough.

As we are looking for houses, the first thing that pops into my head is "how far or close am I to my hairstylist.". When she mentioned she might move to Las Vegas, I told her, I would pay the $$ to fly out and get my hair done by her. She has been my hairstylist since I was in the 7th grade.
JT told me I needed to break up with her and I told him we needed to move closer to her. She's in the town where his parents live and we had our wedding, we have talked about it anyways.
JT just buzzes his own hair and I touch it up, he thinks I should do that too.
I also always write a check so we won't notice how much it is.

Jenn, my MIL drives from Auburn to Kport for her hair too... she met her stylist when he did our hair for our wedding. I currently don't have a stylist and made DH break up with his because of cost (she jumped to $60 or $75).
I would have broken up with mine if it cost $75, I don't understand how a man's cut could be that much, luckily mine is only $30 for a cut, the color is what gets you.

$60 isn't bad for a haircut. But for a guy's haircut?!?
My cut & blowdry is $50 (plus tip) and but no way I can drive two hours to no where to see her. I've never had a stylist this long before - 1.5 yrs, haha - and am dreading finding a new one.
ditto
Ummm, yes... she was promoted to senior stylist so she got a price increase and I flipped... he got 2 free passes to see her and then I told him it was over. Sam, we don't have fun money.
I love my stylist too. I started seeing her before I moved to TX...now that I"m home I drive about 30 minutes to see her. She was $35 (&just out of school) when I started w/ her and is now $55 +tip. That's just for a shampoo/cut/blow dry. I love my hair. I won't let anyone touch it with scissors. I had so many bad cuts in TX I was just miserable.
DH spends like $20 which includes a tip.
