let's say for example that you pick this fabric

and you keep your yellow walls with a purple accent plan.
you find a yellow and purple that coordinate with this...which shouldn't be too hard, since this is a similar color palette. and you have your grey rocker. then you use the fabric for crib bumpers, with solid color sheets (like yellow). maybe you make a cushion for the grey glider in a light grey, or even white...but then a pillow in the patterned fabric. use solid curtains, but use the fabric for tie-backs. and then find another fabric or 2 that coordinate...but not necessarily match. like maybe a green stripe that matches the greenish in the pattern, or even the orange.
make any sense, or am i talking crazy?
Re: allison

I think you make sense but I have a really hard time picturing it all together!
I'm mainly concerned with curtain fabric b/c I need a lot of curtains!! We have blinds but my mom is going to sew curtains with a blackout panel b/c the room gets an insane amount of light. With the bay window though I basically have to do 2 panels per window which is 6 panels. . .eeek! Although I guess thinking about it if the fabric is 44/45 inches wide we can cut it in half to make the panels. . hmmm . . .I know nothing about this!
The only other things I'm really concerned about are a crib skirt and a pillow for the chair. I'd like to do bumpers but I keep hearing bumpers are a bad idea. We also bought a gray and white rug for the room so I guess I need to make sure it ties in too.
ahh, i gotcha. i've seen a LOT of good ideas on ohdeeoh.
maybe look there?

This isn't a baby's room, but I think it still has a lot of offer. Swith out the orange with pink (or gray), and you've got a good starting point.
One more. This is a lot brighter than I assume you wanted, but look at all the patterns on the pillows, they're all different but work together. Just trust your gut!
This website has a great feature to help you visualize how it will all look together. Javis Davis used to have the bomb website and fabric choices but for some reason they decided to get out of the custom nursery business.........and start designing baby doll beds. w. t. f.
