are they popular in your area?
Around here it seems like every beauty salon is doing them.
I do not work in a corporate environment actually we are very laid back but I can not imagine my bosses thinking it was ok to get that.
Who let the dawgs out?

Re: Hair Feathers
I never heard of them around here but I haven't been to the hair salon since May so maybe when I go next week I will hear about it.
The first time I heard of hair feathers was on twitter. I follow Tori Spelling and she got her daughter some.
They seem kinda cool but like you my work would not be okay with me wearing them. I think they would be kinda cool to wear out but not for work (at least where I work).
They are very popular around here, but I'm not a fan.
They are actual feathers from chickens I believe. The same type of feathers used by fly fishermen. The only reason I know this is cause I had read a article about the lack of feathers for fly fishermen since once they pluck the feather it is not like the chicken (or whatever) grows them back immediately and with the demand of them for people to put in their hair there is a shortage.
But here is a picture of them.
Supposedly you can curl and straighten them like regular hair.
Heather I do not know many work environments that this would be acceptable...maybe some creative fields.
I have seen them on tv, magazines and on the internet but I have never seen them in someone's hair IRL.
I think they are for young girls IMO.
THey remind me of the wrapped braids you would get at the beach as a kid.
They're very popular in Denver right now...that's where I first saw and heard about them. I think they're kinda ridiculous. And I do agree with Kel...they remind me of the wrapped braids.
I think I've seen maybe one person around here with them.

As for wearing them at work, they can be put in so that you can hide them, and done correctly, they aren't very noticeable anyway. I don't see it being a problem in any work environment. They fade in with your hair, and you just occasionally get a peek at it, unless you wear your hair so that it shows well.
I think they're a cute fun summer trend for the young and hip..I saw this 35+ soccer mom lady in the mall with them..she looked ridiculous, but I think it's fine for college or high school age girls.
They are just catching on around here..not taking over yet, but i'm sure it's coming. I first saw them at conference for work in march. The girl who had them was very edgy. They fit her well.
They surely do no harm and could be A LOT worse...
I first saw/heard of them when a girl I went to college w/ posted a pic on fb of her w/ them. She's 28 and only had a couple. When I was at sephora the other day the girl working there had one red one. She had really dark brown hair and it blended in nicely.
I think they're pretty cute and fun. They blend in so easily. Now if you're getting 15-20 in there, that's a little much. But the ones I've seen with one or two look fine to me.
