Plus size Business Casual
Got a new job where I have to dress business casual. Trying to build my wardrobe up with all the basics.
Thoughts on stores/sites I need to check out?
Re: Plus size Business Casual
I get my best stuff from Lane Bryant. It's expensive, but it's great quality. Avenue is also good and believe it or not, Fashion Bug is good. A little hit or miss, but can be good. Marshall's or TJ Maxx are good if you don't mind wading through tons of racks.
Business casual is hard. I was thrilled when they took it away from us!
My usual places to shop for work clothes are Talbots, Old Navy, Lane Bryant and Target.
During the winter/fall I usually wear dress pants or skirts w/tights with cardigans and cute cami/shirt under.
Summer I wear a lot of skirts and dresses and have some cropped pants as well.
Macy's and Nordstrom both have great online and in-store plus size sections. Macy's is better in store than Nordstrom, but they're both fantastic online. I recently rebuilt my wardrobe and found a lot of success at both of these stores.
If you're buying "basics" that's great, but if you try to stay in a color pallatte that goes together, you'll have more options. I bought things that were black, brown, taupe, ivory and then added in some "pop of color" pieces in green and purple. But generally made sure everything could go with at least 3 other pieces.
