Going away gift ideas, HELP!
One of my good friends was laid off at our work
and we are having a going away party for her this weekend. I want to get her a little present... any ideas? Neither she nor I are "girly girls" so no fancy candle/fancy soap/etc. I would like to avoid a gift card, as it seems a bit impersonal. She likes to exercise, and spend time outside with her son, and she likes to read... She is a social worker, if that helps. She is a very thoughtful person.
I have considered a journal. She is unfortunately going through a very hard time right now as her Mom is ill & they had to pack up their house to avoid the flood.
Help???
Re: Going away gift ideas, HELP!
Maybe it's just me but I think this would be the perfect situation to give a gift card. Laid off work AND displaced= lots of eating out and not a lot of money to do it.
I think I gift card to a restaurant or a coffee shop would be nice. But like I said, maybe its just me!
I completely agree. They have a lot going on, I'm sure she would appreciate not having to worry about meals for awhile. You could pair a journal with a gift card(s) if you want to do something more personal.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
if you dont want to do a gift card what about a basket with all of the ingredients to make a meal??
