So, if you recall, BIL kicked MIL out. Her friend let her move into his trailer and he was going to pay her to drive him around because he got his license taken away after his 3rd DUI. Well, she called BIL 2 days ago saying it didn't work out because he wasn't paying her enough (ok, free rent plus a little extra is the best she's done in years). So, she asked BIL "so, I need to stay with you for a night, maybe longer. And can you front me $1000 for bills and I'll pay you back when I can?" his response was "no and no! However, if you get a job you can live with me for one month and I'll loan you the money." needless to say, she's now living with another friend of hers. And the best part, since BIL turned her away she went to his house (she still has a key so she could walk her dog and use his computer, but he's changing his locks on Friday) and left him a poor me note saying everything she's done for him, that she let him use her stuff like washer/dryer, sofa, etc (which he used to she didn't have to pay storage), and saying that her life fell apart because he made her feel like she had to get out, so she went to NC and things got worse. Then, he went into his room
And found another note saying "I borrowed your $50 worth of quarters for my prescriptions. I'll pay you back $20 when I can. Love, your deadbeat mom". BIL said she's probably going to use it for cigarettes. Oh, and she also wants him to list all of her stuff on craigslist to sell asap. BIL offered to do that for her months ago and told her not to come asking for it in dire need. So needless to say, he's just not going to respond to her at this time and is changing his locks. What I'm really surprised about is that she hasn't called DH yet. She's probably working on a really good story for him. It's just so frustrating because the solution is so simple. It's not like she's a dumb person - she owned her own contracting business for years. She probably won't see Margot until we get back from China because she can't afford to come visit us. I'm glad the guys are finally not enabling her any longer though. However, she's burned all of her extended family bridges, keeps burning friendships, and is starting to get mad at the boys. Yet all she has to do is get a job... Even something simple like home depot ....where you get benefits too!! Grrrrrrr!!!!!
