WFD - Lazy Edition

I'm PMSing right now so any kind of food sounds good for dinner, but I have no desire to cook or go to the grocery store.

What's your favorite EASY dish? And do you want to bring it to me? Kidding, sort of...

Re: WFD - Lazy Edition

  • what do you have on hand? it's hard to make suggestions if you don't want to grocery shop.

  • My favorite lazy dish? Frozen raviolis, tomato sauce, done. If I'm really lazy, fast food, or takeout of some kind. We're actually making BBQ Chicken Pizza tonight, and then if it sucks (since I've never made pizza at home before) we'll probably order pizza.

Sadly, nothing. So I have to go, probably should have said that.
  • My favorite lazy dinner/PMS dinner is a $5.55 large pepperoni pizza on butter cheese crust from Hungry Howie's. I don't know if you guys have them in Jax. It's greasy, delicious pizza.

I like Lucky's idea of frozen ravioli.

It's my day off so I'm grilling BBQ chicken thighs, making baked beans (from a can), tomato salad, another veggie maybe and I've got almost homemade pecan pie in the oven. I say "almost" because I didn't make the crust.

  • My easy meal is baked chicken and rice cooker rice, or chicken stir fry. Tonight, though, I'm having Wendy's for dinner. Be jealous. (it sucks cooking for one)

  • My easy meals are cheese quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches and one of those frozen southwest chicken things in a tortilla.

ETA: And lately, hot dogs also.

  • I'm no help today. Crazy lazy over here. My plan is to eat whatever DH decides to cook...and if that's nothing, I might eat some cheese. lol. We also have grapes and a bottle of wine I can finish. I'm now preferring this to anything DH might cook. Keep it simple.

  • Quesadillas sound good. I swear, I could eat a whole buffet of food right now.
  • Oooh! Even easier...Publix fried chicken and a some hawaiian rolls.  PMS food = PG food.
  • We are having Manwich and sweet potato fries.

Yum. Get some of their mac & cheese too.

  • We are having chicken enchiladas.  I made them when I did a bunch of freezer meals when I was still PG so I could have a bunch of easy things to take out and reheat.

Now I wish I had had this.  I haven't even thought of this meal since XH.  We used to do this all the time.  Its soooo good.

  • When I don't feel like cooking I make this:

    http://mothers-of-invention.blogspot.com/2008/03/black-bean-and-tomato-quesadillas.html

It's just opening a few cans and chopping an onion. I know the link calls it a quesadilla, which I do sometimes, but if I'm feeling more lazy I will just wrap it up in a tortilla and eat without heating, or just eat it as a salsa dip with tortilla chips.

Or, as PP said, I pick up chicken from the Publix deli.

Last night was not a lazy night for us - I baked some blue fish, roasted vegetables, and made mashed turnips.

  • day late dollar short, but I recently found an awesome/easy recipe for muffin-tin lasagnas using wonton wrappers. spray muffin tin with pam, slap down a wonton wrapper, a tablespoon of marinara, a teaspoon of ricotta, and "1/4 tsp" pesto (I used more like 3/4 bec I'm a pesto fiend).. do another layer the same way, spray a little pam on the wonton corners that stick out, and bake @ 375 for 10min.. sprinkle some mozz on top and put it back in the oven to melt.
