I don't ever fly...so help me out....
why are tickets so dang expensive? I just got an invite to my sister's baby shower in KS. I totally wanted to suprise her. the dang shower is next weekend (the 9th). i just looked and the cheapest tickets are like 500 dollars! oy. not so much.
Re: I don't ever fly...so help me out....
Supply and demand my friend. They know anyone booking that close needs the flight so no need to discount it.
You could always wait until a day or two before the flight and check:

That might be your best hope.
Anywhere south by Tulsa, per chance? Southwest is about $400 to Tulsa, but then you would have to rent a car.
Flights are outrageous, now.
nope....Kansas City. =(
I second this. Priceline, Expedia, or Cheapoair, are probably your best bets. Just did the same thing for a family reunion, so I feel your pain!!! Good luck!
