Fiberglass, Textured Tub Enclosure... How to Clean?

How to get the bottom clean?  It is GROSS and even my housekeepers don't get it clean.

What can I use?

Re: Fiberglass, Textured Tub Enclosure... How to Clean?

  • Barkeepers Friend and a really good scrub brush plus a lot of elbow grease.

    Wet the enclosure first.

Sprinkle the BF all over. ALL OVER.

Let it sit for a bit. 20 minutes or so.

Get your scrub brush wet and start scrubbing.

Work from one end to the other and then rinse.

  • Try getting the cheapest shampoo you can find (think V05 or Suave) and get the clarifying one if possible, plug the tub, and empty the container on the floor. Leave for as long as you can (overnight if possible) and then do a quick scrub and rinse!

  • **disclaimer: not ecofriendly, and will bleach your clothes**

BUT- it will work, and if you leave it alone for a few minutes, you'll barely even have to scrub it. Use Tilex. I keep some on hand just for my bathtub and shower curtain liner. A little goes a long way and be sure to ventilate well.

  • I've started using my Shark handheld steam cleaner on the one in my guest bathroom.  I like it since it's not using any chemicals.
  • The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works pretty well on textured surfaces.

  • sprinkle with barkeepers and use magic eraser on top of the sprinkled Barkeepers---then elbow grease...it should come right out! GL
