Update on my girl.

She had a sedated ABR this morning.  She did great -- despite being hungry, she was cooing and smiling and stealing everyone's hearts before they put her out and then she conked out watching an aquarium crib soother before the meds even had a chance to kick in.

Her left ear has worsened a bit -- she had a tiny bit of hearing at the loudest level for one tone, but that's gone now.

Her right ear tested fine, which was a huge surprise to H and me.  The audiologist is concerned, though, that she's not responding to sound the way a normal 5-month-old should be.  She wants to see her back in the next couple weeks and do a "behavioral" hearing test, where they'll put Ruby in a sound booth and watch for her reaction to sounds.  She said it could be a processing issue where the sound is getting into the ear, but the brain isn't receiving it correctly.

I feel better that the audiologist was concerned, too, and that she didn't just write off our worry with the normal test results.

Hopefully we'll know for sure either way in a week or two.
