Disney World Question

Is early September a good time to go?

H and I are trying to coordinate vacation time and are thinking about maybe going to disney after Labor Day when kids are just starting the school year.

Also, where should I be looking for deals?

Re: Disney World Question

  • We have annual passes now since my parents have a home in Lake Buena Vista, but before that, I know that there are a lot of discount ticket places. We bought tickets from one of them twice, and once the tickets were fine but the second time they almost didn't let us in the park. So it's a risk you take, but the tickets are half price.

Undercovertourist.com (I think, google though just to be sure) is a legit ticket broker, and you'll find discounted rates there.

We're going back in two weeks (we were there in February too)! Love Disney!!

  • Feel free to e-mail me or FB me....I have a ton of information on WDW since we go quite a bit.  We are going in October.  I would look for deals on the website, sign up for e-mails.  Also visit mousesavers.com.  They list all the current promotions for WDW and surrounding hotels.  We are renting Disney Vacation Club points this go around and saved about $800 doing so.

September is a slow month and has a couple good deals going on right now.  I have been there over Labor Day and during the middle of the month.  The weather is HOT and HUMID.  Occationally you will get a strong storm in the middle of the afternoon making it more HUMID.  I don't think I will go in September anymore because of the heat.  I prefer Late October - Thanksgiving.  Crowds are still light and you can catch a lot of the Holiday action (Halloween and Christmas).  Like I said above, we are going in October for the Food and Wine Fesival as well as the Halloween Party.  In 2009 we were there over Thanksgiving and did the Christmas stuff.  LOVED IT!!

  • DH and I are big Disney World fans...so is our new LO as you can tell by my siggy pic! :)

We have gone at pretty much all times of the year and our absolute favorite time to go is the very end of August right before Labor Day.  Yes, it's hot, but the parks are very slow during that week.  After our first trip during that last week of August, we decided to make that the time we would go every year.  We were amazed that we could just walk onto rides that usually had hour long wait times.  We had good luck with restaurant reservations and getting seats and bars and shows, as well.  If you can handle the temps in the high 80's and into the 90's, then you might want to consider it.  If you stay on Disney property, there are plenty of awesome pools to cool off in.

We also really liked going in mid-late November.  You get the combo of seeing all of the fall decorations and Christmas decorations.  Plus they do the Food and Wine Festival and that's always fun.

One good website for discounts is http://www.mousesavers.com/  We have used that one many times.  Also, if you want to book with a travel agent, this is the site to the Disney experts and it's free! http://www.mousefantravel.com/mft/index.php

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.  We have become quite the Disney experts over the years lol.  Good luck!

  • I've been there is September and the weather was beautiful and the crowds weren't bad either since kids are back in school.
  • Are you going just to drink the water? ;)

  • The fertility statues might still be at Ripley's Believe it or not museum in September! I did get pregnant less than 3 months after touching them :)
