XP: Clean, Separate, Cook, Chill- videos

I put this on the Cooking board, but apparently food safety issues aren't a hot topic.  Zip it!

USDA and FDA are doing a joint campaign.  Looks like a HUGE waste of money.

Here's Clean-- the other videos are in the right sidebar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr2ySNl85vg&feature=relmfu

"Separate" is the only one that (mockingly) is actually showing what we should do.  The others seem to be "don'ts".  I don't get it.

This blog has interesting points.  My fav:  "...the Four Steps are essentially useless if a consumer has food that arrives in the home kitchen already contaminated."

  • I read a funny review of this as well.  I don't really see how this would be helpful if you have had more than 5 minutes of basic food safety training or even just some common sense.

  • Yeaaaahhhh, I don't get it.

    The pig was cute though!

But Americans don't want to equate pigs with pork. (As a part of a larger denial of where their food comes from.)  Are we supposed to think she's trying to cook her pig in the sauna?  I really just don't get them.  I'm emarrased to work for USDA (though in nothing to do with food or dumb vidoes.)
