An ebay question
Since I don't do ebay bidding very often, I can't remember how this works. When I put in my highest bid, that's the most I am willing to pay, right? And if (let's just say) no one else bids on it, do I pay that amount, or do I pay the number of the starting bid? Also, if someone bids higher than I do, I get another chance to change my amount, right?

When you put in your max bid that is saying it is the highest you will go, so others can bid too but if they don't reach your max you will win. But you don't always end up paying that if the current bid is lower.
So say starting $1 but your max is $5. If no one else bids you will pay the $1. The only way it goes up is if others bid too. And yes you can always change your max bid. I usually "watch" items and then if I really want it I put my bid in at the last minute, otherwise if its a hot item people can get into bidding wars and the price goes up fast.

I'm pretty sure bidders can't see your highest bid but if their highest bid is higher it will ask you if you want to go higher than that. It basically skips all the bidding less than the highest bid if that makes sense.
