Re: Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful that after today, I won't have to see my boss for 17 days.
Also, i'm thankful that my family is amazing, and that's all i'll say about that for now.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I am incredibly thankful that H got a new job. After MCPS lost his references last year and mistakenly told him that he had to apply as an external candidate (despite the fact that he'd worked for them for 14 years), he was incredibly demoralized and dejected when these errors lost him the opportunity to get a new teaching job. It will be so great to have a happier H in a better job!
I'm also thankful that I got permission to hire an assistant so that I can maybe, finally, get out from under the mountain of work I'm expected to do.
4 DAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I got stuck in a crappy single-tracking delay on Metro super early this morning, but I had a great cup of coffee in my travel mug and the operator was very informative (and apologetic) about the situation.
STEAMED CRABS ON MY 4 DAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, I got an intern on Monday who seems really with it and smart and helpful. And cute and gay. He should be fun.
i went to the gym this morning and found out i have lost 3% body fat since April...so i am pumped (damn scale won't move though!).....granted this will all be put back likely three hours after our plane hits the ground.
we are just days away from our big "must leave the country" vacation. it is a huge milestone for us and i just hope it goes well.
Stand up for something you believe in.

I'm thankful for my college friend's visit this weekend. We don't get a lot of visitors besides my parents, so this will be fun! I'm so glad we've stayed in touch.
I'm also thankful that my company has a roof top so we can watch the fireworks away from the crowds (though we'll still have to deal with metro on the way home).
Planning Bio
Yay for 3 day weekends! Especially since I am now building up my vacation time again, it's really, really appreciated.
I am also thankful that LO now is happy and laughing and smiling most of the time. I always loved him, of course, but now my heart just bursts whenever I see him. He is learning so much so quickly and is just my little guy. I am worried he will end up spoiled beyond belief because both me and DH are so gaga over him.
I have a 4-day weekend, while DH has a 3-day. It's almost always the other way around, where he gets a holiday and I do not. It's good timing too... he's really stressed for a variety of reasons and driving me crazy and I really need some alone time/retail therapy tomorrow.
Grateful for some Rx meds to finally bust this bug I caught almost 10 days ago. I'm ready to start feeling better.
Super grateful that my friend is out of the hospital after planned brain surgery (and surprise heart surgery after complications arose).

I'm thankful for...
-a gym at work
-a husband that likes to travel as much as I do
-the slipcover that is arriving via FedEx today
I'm thankful for GPS. 95% of the time, I have absolutely no clue where I am.
I'm also thankful for pretty flowers, and this gorgeous not-as-humid weather that we've had the past couple of days.
I'm thankful for:
-my DH's new job. Even though it is causing some headaches right now, it will be a perfect fit and wonderful switch. I am totally behind him.
-likelihood of my new job
-support of our families
-my absolutely adorable kid
I am very thankful for-
family beach vacay starts Saturday!
my sweet kids
another chance at a new job opportunity
beautiful weather today
DearDCtLC,
I am thankful that we had an uneventful closing on our new house this week. Even more thankful that the previous owners were awesomely organized about the house. Even MORE thankful that after they moved their furniture, they decided their carpet was dirty and left us an unexpected check to have the carpet cleaned! This is after our initial offer on the house requested that they cleaned the carpet (not for stains, but bad cigarette smoke).
Quad thankful that I have a 40 of cider in the fridge calling my name. After waiting all day for either the water technician to show up or waiting for the carpet cleaner dude, the toddler hasn't had a wink -- tonight has been a bear.
Finally, thankful for a nestie who was able to point me to a lead for some work at home stuff.
.
Worn out,
