yarn wrath question

Louie and goldengirl - about how much felt did you use per the large flower? I am going to be working on my wrath today and got four sheets of felt.  Will that make two large and a bunch of the small flowers? Or should I get more?

Re: yarn wrath question

  • You should be fine. I used half a sheet of felt to make my large flowers, a 1/4 of the felt for a medium flower, and 1/8 to make the smallest flowers. I think I got 8 sheets of felt and still have 4 whole sheets, plus a bunch of half, 1/4, and 1/8 sized pieces. :-) Hope that helps!

  • It does, thank you :) I wasn't sure if it was safe to cut one sheet in a half to make the large flowers.  I can't wait to share the pictures with you :)
  • Ooh, I can't wait to see! Tiny Pic isn't working at work this week so I haven't been able to upload the picture of mine, arg.
  • You girls are so reading my mind!  Do you know how long I've been wanting to make one of those wreaths?  Now that DH and I are moving, I'm totally making one this weekend to hang in our new home!

I do have experience in fabrics, so I think you will be perfectly fine with just 4 sheets.  There are tons of tutorials online for felt flowers and all will vary in the amount used.  I wouldn't think you'd use a whole sheet for a large flower -- that'd be really large!
