Alexandria Restaurant Recs?
DH and I have only been over there a few times so we don't really know the area well.
We're planning on watching the National Harbor fireworks from either Oronoco Park or Founders Park on Sunday and will want to grab dinner and maybe a few drinks before.
Are there any restaurants around there? We've been to the Chart House before, so I was hoping for something different.
Price doesn't really matter.

Stand up for something you believe in.
I'm not really craving anything. Except Mexican. I can always eat Mexican.
We'll eat anything except sushi, basically.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
The best Mexican place in Alexandria isn't in Old Town, it is in Del Ray (about 10 min away driving). Their food and margaritas are awesome and they're relatively inexpensive.

If you're hoping to stay in Old Town proper, Restaurant Eve or Vermillion always good and popular, but pricier.
We really like Two Nineteen, but that isn't everyone's thing- it is Creole/ French type food. We've always had awesome food (she crab soup is to die for) and good service.

If it's open, you have to go here:

I think it may be closed on the 4th though. Boo. It's the new restaurant opened by the husband and wife team who own Eve.
If that's not an option, I like Columbia Firehouse and Vermillion.
Yes, there are quite a few restaurants around there
It really is a case of what kind of food do you want, what kind of vibe, atmosphere, price, etc.
Perhaps start with a search on Open Table to see who has tables when you want to go. Not that most will be packed and require a rez, but I figure it's a good way to narrow it down, see menus, etc.
Alas, I think it's not great. Especially in the summer. It's Irish food and heavy. I didn't try the drinks, though, so that may be a redeemer. I'm just not a fan of the place in general. It's like they tried too hard, or something. Sigh.
BOO! I'm sad.
