What are you doing for the 4th?

I can't decide. I kinda want to see fireworks, but ugh, the crowds. Anyone have any fun plans?

Re: What are you doing for the 4th?

  • Bedtime falls at 8 p.m., so we will be missing fireworks this year since the 4th is on Monday and DD will need to go to school Tuesday a.m.

I intend to avoid the crowds and maybe just go to our local park to play in the sun for a bit.

  • I dont have any plans, I wish I did.

If Channelside is doing the fireworks this year you can go stand on Bayshore (around Howard) and see them without having to deal with crowds. I know thats kinda far from you.

  • You can also cruise around Davis Island to the dog park/yacht club and watch them from the beach there.  Very few people go there unless they are DI residents.

  • Nothing so far. It depends on what the doctor decides to do about my tail.

I'd love to have the garden party that I'd planned this weekend...(!@!$%#!)  And Rob will be OOT the following weekend, and the next weekend we are both OOT. /sigh

I think we'll just watch some TV and chill. I'd love, love, love to play in the sun some, if I can.

The last time I did anything "special" for the 4th was when we all went to CPH's house. Wtfingf.

  • We have friends coming over Sunday night, but they are leaving some time Monday.. I doubt we'll drive anywhere to see fireworks. We'll prob cook on the grill or something. We are so exciting.

  • Well, that was certainly all over the place.
  • I bet you could go down to Hixon park, too, and sit on the river for a good view.

  • We are going to Sarasota for the weekend and going to a 4th party on Sunday night at a friends.
  • Probably heading out on my Dad's boat after everyone naps and staying out until fireworks.  Some friend of ours and their kids are joining us too!  I am really excited since last year I was on house arrest (aka  bedrest) and couldn't leave my house.

  • I'm pretty sure anyone's plans top mine.  We're being admitted to All Children's CVICU at 4pm for Kennedy's pre-op.  Since it's a holiday, they couldn't do it outpatient.  If we're lucky maybe we'll see fireworks from the Pier?  Not how I wanted to spend Kennedy's first 4th of July (sigh).  But, there will be lots more 4th of July celebrations in her future.  (And you can bet we'll be marching into ACH in her July 4th outfit.)

  • Im actually only working till 3pm so I have the night off to watch fireworks and hope to get some good shots.

The Aquarium is doing a special viewing of the fireworks as well as the Victoty Ship next to the Aquarium. Great spot to watch the fireworks.

  • Last year we stayed home and it was actually the best fireworks show we've seen in a long time!  My neighbors went all out and put together a great display so if they are doing it again we will probably just park our butts in our camping chairs and sit in the driveway.
