  • Thanks ladies!! I think he's awfully handsome, but I'm pretty biased. Wink

Yes, I used the lens I rented to take my siggy picture. It's THIS ONE from borrowlenses.com. I'm completely in love with it and don't want to send it back Crying I do have it through the 4th of July weekend though, so I can get lots of great shots from our camping adventure in northern Michigan.

So tell me about renting lenses. Do they just send it to you and you send it back when you are finished with it? I bet it's a good way to try out lenses before buying. (If I would have done that, I probably wouldn't have purchased by 50mm because the manual focus is really annoying.)

Yep, that's exactly how it works, and it's amazing.

You can choose to rent the lens for any length of time -- they'll ship it to you in a way that makes it simple to return. The include a shipping label to use for return (which you pay for, of course) but you don't have to worry about trying to repackage the lens in a way that will keep it protected. I purchased insurance for like $6 I think as well.

The only downfall is they require a signature to receive the package, and I'm never home at a time they would deliver. I just got online with FedEx and changed my delivery so they'd hold it at a facility where I could pick it up.
I paid $133 to rent this lens for 3 weeks, including shipping and insurance. It's a bit steep, but I'd rather invest that and capture great pictures of my family vacations then spend the nearly $700 this lens costs to buy without even knowing if I'll like it or not.

Oh, and they also have just about any other kind of camera/photography equipment you could possibly ever want too.

The really sucky part is that I've fallen in love with this lens and I have to send it back Crying

  • I was just going to start a new post complimenting your siggy too! Brody is such a handsome little man!!
And what an awesome picture!! It's so clear! We have a Nikon camera but i'm not very good with it. I really should try to read the manual thoroughly. Embarrassed
