DH and I are moving out of our apartment and into a townhouse next weekend. We'd finally had enough of the shithole we were living in and are actually breaking our lease 1 month early.
Once you move into a new place, do you keep boxes or throw them away? I'm talking about the boxes computers/stereos/kitchen appliances come in. They take up so much room and we could be staying put for 5+ years. My parents keep boxes for EVERYTHING (they also have 2 attics, so there's room) and it's been engrained in me to do the same.

Do the creep.
Re: Moving Out/Moving In
Good for you girl! One step closer to a house...whcih I know you guys are working for. I am constantly cleaning clutter, so I would had thrown the said boxes out ages ago! haha
But, I'd say that if you can no longer return the items you speak of, (i.e. it's past thirty days, or you've had it for years) toss em. You can always get containers or even use reusable bags if you're not moving further than across town for the next time you guys uproot. :-)
I'm so good at purging everything else but boxes. But most of the boxes are of DH's things -- PlayStation, countertop oven, sound system -- and all of those are big boxes! He might get upset, but they're getting tossed once we're settled. I've always wondered whether other people kept boxes or did the normal thing and threw them away!
Do the creep.
My Blog
Unless the stuff is under warranty, pitch the boxes! Boxes are cheap (just go to any liquor store/grocery store and ask when they flatten their boxes after shipment, usually they'll hand them over for free), and it's easy enough to get bubble wrap and packing peanuts and such.
SO glad you guys are movin' on up
