I just got back from Camp Sunshine a few hours ago and I'm totally exhausted! But it was totally worth it! It flew by WAY too fast though.
It was sad this year because we lost a couple of kids and adults and we had a beautiful brick ceremony for Nicholas and it was incredibly emotional.
I was initially annoyed that I couldn't be in the teen group this year but I really had fun with the 6-8 year olds. I also forgot how much they want piggy back rides, hah.
It's so amazing to me to see these kids that I knew as babies or little kids and they are growing up so fast!!! It's unreal! But it also makes my heart swell because I know that those same kids are living longer and that's all I can wish for.
The last day of camp there was a lice infestation with one of the families that I'm particularly close with. Luckily I did not have any but I'm getting the creeps just thinking about it. The whole family had to be quarantined and at first we thought we wouldn't be able to see them but a small group of s went to go visit them in their room.
All in all it was an amazing time as always with the best people ever. I'm uploading some pictures onto facebook so check them out soon!

Not all of them do but the majority of kids there do have it. The other kids are their siblings.

Thats cool that they include the siblings. They would feel left out if only the ones with FA got to go.
DH & I at the Light Festival
For sure. Especially with FA, many of the siblings are just as important as the kids with FA. A LOT of those siblings are potential matches for bone marrow transplants for their siblings. They also have a session for JUST the siblings that DON'T have FA where they talk about how it feels to be the one w.o it etc.
