I can see where the addiction comes from

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I am addicted to buying cloth diapers.

They are just so stinkin' cute!!!!  Now I have to restrain myself until I decide if I even like using them or not.  I have a decent stash built up though.

  • Haha!  I am going to my local CD store in a few weeks to buy a bunch more!  They are having moms come and sell their old ones and you can get really good deals!

What kinds are you going to try?

  • oooh... I'm excited to start too! we are going with the Flip diapers. They are supposed to fit 8 - 35 lbs. so I have to wait a little bit before my barely 6 pounder will fit.

  • yay! What are you buying?

I just bought Anders a bunch or rumparooz and #2 a few NB grovias.

FYI, Kawaii is out of Canada, her stuff is wicked cheap and I love her goodnight diapers with bamboo inserts!

I ordered this "mystery grab bag" that came with a Ecobums, and an iCandy (http://www.urban-fluff.com/icandy.html) diaper, as well as some disposable insert type things.  I also got a Fuzzibunz on sale and just ordered the Grovia summer package (https://www.gro-via.com/hybrid/grotogo-summerkit.html) which I got the pink one shown in the pic and the owl one shown and then the "nature" one.

I don't really know anything about cloth diapers, but I'm going with all-in-one types because I want to it be as "easy" as possible.  I think I will use disposable in the newborn stage until she fits these though.

I don't want to buy any more until I know if I like CD-ing, but considering I'll be home for her entire first year of her life, I think it will be easy enough for me to do, especially if I supplement with disposable when needed.

  • I'm glad I decided against CDs because I don't use them and I am STILL tempted by them lol! There would be no way in hell Wyatt would put up with cloth diapers... it is a constant battle to keep him still long enough to get a diaper in place... ugh

  • I like my BumGenius much better than my Fuzzi Buns.  I am going to try GroVia's next.  Kawaii's are my favorite right now.  They are cheap and softer than BG or FB.  I bought them off of diaperswappers.com.  I have also found that prefolds don't smell near as much as the microfiber inserts did.  Those micro inserts smelled horrible from the second he peed and even a little after they were washed.  I haven't had any horrible smells from the prefolds and I switched a couple weeks ago.  Don't forget to get a wetbag or two along with CD friendly diaper rash cream.

On the 16th there is a diaper swap at my local CD store and I can't wait!  I went last time, but I was still way clueless.  Now I have a better understanding of everything.

C_Mo - Parker is a wiggle worm and I find it easier to put a CD on him than a disposible.  Plus he started to pull at the tabs of the disposables and he can't un-snap the CD.  They also have velcro CD that are way more secure than disposibles.
